In retrospect I realised this may have been a quote (perhaps from the movie Hackers, which I haven't seen), then discovered it is in fact some random meme. Gotcha.
Not sure why you were modded as funny. You never know, they might have been pretty dumb, or careless somewhere. And even if they were behind proxies, that doesn't make it impossible to trace them either. I suppose it depends on who was running the proxies, where they were (and therefore what laws are in effect), and how cooperative the involved ISPs are.
Which side are you talking about, exactly? The stuff done here was presumably a lot more traceable and punishable than a DDoS attack by thousands of angsty teenagers.
I call bullpickles. These rocks have not been moving under their own power, but have been driven by high winds over a low friction substrate. A very specific arrangement, and not one that Dwayne is subject to.
.. accurate simulations are not news for nerds? I have no interest in American Football, or most other competitive sports, but I still think this is cool.
Hard to believe that rocks will just sit in the same place for 10000 years
I found this hard to believe at first too. I've been sitting watching this rock for over 25 years now though, and no sign of movement on the micrometer. I'm starting to have my doubts.
The Galaxy Tab's screen is too small, and the device itself just feels too chunky and cheap IMO. 7" isn't very portable, so you might as well go to 9 or 10" to get a decent sized screen. The Streak is a nice size, and also very thin. I liked it so much I bought one, and I'm very happy with it.
Maybe they are, from the telco side at least. They probably are freaked out by the "open" nature because it's easier for people to get around any stupid restrictions they put in place, ie trying to disable tethering.
Android-based manufacturers neglect the hardware side of things, which is puzzling.
Not that puzzling. Most of them are just out to make a quick buck by jumping on the iPad hype. They get the software side very cheaply (probably free if they don't add the Android market?), they do the hardware cheap, they sell at a 1/4 of the price of the iPad so that people feel they're getting a good deal, but in reality it's not that great an idea.
I did buy a cheap tablet to test out Android, it's annoying that I can't get an update to even 1.6 for it because it would work okay as an eBook reader. Happy overall that I got it though, as I was just wanting to test out Android, and it led me to buy a Dell Streak, which is a great device. It has a decent sized screen for viewing videos and browsing, yet can still fit in your jeans' side pockets.
He meant that this guy was getting free advertising by doing this. Hopefully nobody is really dumb enough to believe that they are entitled to stop people posting up naked pictures without charging, because it's somehow "a violation of their free speech".
What a whiny little bitch. There are plenty of paid porn sites that do fine. His sites must have sucked (and not in a good way) if filtering through pages of google results was a more rewarding experience.
By the looks of your username and home page, you have many, many work addresses, and you probably need to discard identities regularly to avoid being arrested.
The constitution has already been reduced to a bad joke, get over it
I'm not American for one thing. I found the "land of the free, we're awesome" stuff quite tiresome even before it did start becoming a joke, but now it's worse. I don't want to get over the fact that such a previously vocal group is now letting the government shit all over them, but often still pretending like the US is number 1 in every way. I want people to get a grip.
National emergencies occur for more reasons than suppressing the population to keep a dictator in office for a 31st year. I'm sure if you thought about it you could come up with some reasons.
No, I really can't think of any good reasons that don't have other solutions.
What "national emergency" will arise such that the govt needs to shut down all internet access? It makes no sense. If they want to take all government sites offline while they shore up security (similar to shutting down airlines while there is a significant danger) that's fine, but why shut down everything else? If a bank is being hacked, shut down the bank's site. If the stock exchange is being hacked, shut down the stock exchange. Blanket shutting down of everything only seems useful to stop public communications. It would be pretty pointless against an organised military force.
It's pretty much the same concept as buying a gift voucher for a store. If Zynga will honour their agreement, and the customer thinks it's worth the money, I don't see what the big deal is.
Why are people letting the US govt away with this? An internet kill switch sounds an awful lot like a violation of free speech, especially if they're thinking of using it in the same way the Egyptian govt did. The constitution is starting to look like a bad joke.
Well, I suspect that having the Kindle app on iPhone and iPad is good advertising, and helps to draw customers in. I tried Kindle on my Android before deciding to buy a real Kindle.
If they had a desktop Linux reader I probably would have bought one sooner.. (Windows one doesn't work under WINE). They have a Linux MP3 downloader, why not Kindle for Linux?
I'd prefer to do it from someone else's University, preferably in a different city, from a live CD.. with a spoofed MAC address..

What's wrong with the Streak? o_0

Really looks like they're trying hard to fail.

True. I use Gmail as my main account now, and any place that I think might pass my details to spammers gets the Hotmail address.
Bah, you had to go and spoil a good troll with meaningless facts.
I don't care if all it did was run your query over to Google and search on it and return the results with its own front.
I do, if I could get the same results directly from Google - faster, and presumably with less ads.

I'm sure if correctly taped neider the duct tape or the concrete would break
That depends a lot on how fast the vehicle is moving.

A lot of currency is already "virtual", ie there is no gold or even paper currency there backing it up.
Yes.

It depends how obvious Amazon are allowed to make the web buying option. "Click here to pay $10, or click here to pay $7!" probably won't be allowed.
