"here you are sir, 23 people in the office are boinking your Executive assistant."
"Don't worry - I've already told the cleaners to give special attention to your desk, chair, phone, scanner, shredder, and your little wooden dinosaur sculptures with the very long necks."
Yep that's why I used the phrase calories out, but I was just trying to emphasise that it's not all about eating less.. even when I was eating more than most people I was only putting on weight very slowly (and most people still thought I was "thin" even when I had an extra 2 stone of weight spread over me). Most would say I have a "good metabolism", but I reckon a lot of it could be down to me being slightly more active even when I'm sitting at a desk, I tend to be subconsciously bobbing my head and tapping my legs/feet to music, whereas a lot of people would just be sitting there like zombies.
There must be massive amounts of energy and bandwidth wasted just punting the stuff around the world, nevermind viewing it once it reaches its destination. The earlier spam is caught and filtered the better.. it's such a waste. We get our mail filtered by MessageLabs before it ever hits our own servers, I reckon we probably get our money's worth quite easily via the bandwidth we're saving. It would still be nice just to wipe it out at the source of course.
I'm not sure if it's on a par with the Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society, though admittedly in the universe in which is exists it is not really a backronym.
Calories out being very important too - you could be eating peanut butter, potato chips and soda all day and be getting thinner if you're doing a lot of manual labour or exercise. Michael Phelps was taking in something like 12000 calories a day (about 5 times more than they say the average guy should eat per day) while training for the olympics, though that is obviously an extreme example.
Yes, I was going to point out your first statement but I seriously thought you were trolling and didn't bother to say everything I was thinking.
I am perfectly capable of using computers, including diagnosing hardware and software issues. I have run Windows games fine on WINE before, and I do Windows IT support as part of my job. We only have 2 Vista machines here. One belongs to the director and hasn't had any issues he's told me about, and the other one belongs to another IT guy, who did have those mapped drive issues as well as DPC latency problems which is apparently very common on Vista no matter what drivers you are using. I am aware that Vista is better than when it was first released, but honestly I never had any want to spend money on it in the first place. I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon, I've disliked Windows back from my Mac and Amiga days as a pre-teen. XP Pro is fine for our needs. Vista may be usable but we have no need for it here at work, and I sure as hell don't need it at home. I'm not one of those people that upgrades to the latest thing just because it's there, there has to be a good reason. Windows 7 sounds interesting if it has the security improvements of Vista but in a more efficient package. Let's see how MS do.
Note that yes I have had problems with Ubuntu sometimes, but for one thing I didn't pay £200 for it, and for another it is running excellently on a 1.6GHz Atom with 1GB of RAM (often only using about 380MB even with music, email, web browser with multiple tabs, remote desktop, webserver etc, running) - Vista has no chance on such hardware. And that's just a joke - an OS is not there to suck up resources, it's there as a facilitator.
The moronic tone of your post suggests that you are in fact just trolling, so I'm not going to waste time replying fully, but see http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/forum/t-39889/variation-to-the-vista-map-drive-problem for an example of a single problem. Which "button" do you push to solve this problem? Note that I'm not dumb enough to have installed Vista as you probably are, this is an issue that a friend of mine is having. I'm quite happy with my Ubuntu netbook that can cold boot in 30 seconds flat even with its piddly little Atom processor.
99% of problems are the user/technician not having a clue.
Ah yes, we all simply don't understand that operating systems should be getting more bloated over time so that they run slower than older versions even on faster hardware. Yes indeed.. we don't have a clue how this computing thing should work. Microsoft obviously have it nailed though, otherwise they'd be rushing out a new version of Windows that tries to sort out all the problems Vista has.. oh, wait!
Even if I didn't do anything wrong I am supposed to be punished because everyone loves my product?
Do you seriously know anyone who "loves" Windows? I hear people complaining about how they want to throw their computer across the room or how they are "rubbish with computers", but not many who say "wow, I love how intuitive this Control Panel/window manager is!".
Perhaps you don't quite understand what a "monopoly" is, or why it is bad for the consumer. It's like saying that people in a communist regime where everyone is given daily bread and water rations must really love bread and water if that's the only thing they ever eat. Or imagine that each brand of car could only run when kept supplied with the manufacturer's own brand of fuel and oil - whoever had the best fueling infrastructure would win. Microsoft currently has the best "infrastructure" simply because they got in there first, so many business applications and games are heavily reliant on Windows rather than the more open platforms that have become available as the world of personal computing has matured. As more software companies start to make their software available on different OSes or move applications into the browser etc, we'll see what people really "love".
All I could think was, "How freaking GAY!" Myspace all over again, right?
I thought myspace was a traditional hangout for emo types - not much gaiety over there! If you want gay frivolity, you need Bebo or Facebook - everyone there is gay!
There's basically three choices when you find something exploitable on a computer: Shut up, use it for fun, or use it to do harm.
What about letting the site owners know about the vulnerability? Sometimes you just get ignored and open yourself up to being a suspect if that vulnerability is used, but it is still an option.. since advertising was involved, I count this as malicious rather than 'for fun'. It's like an unholy for-profit union between spam, chain mails and malware..
If TPB can't be held responsible for simply providing links to illegal downloads, surely this kid shouldn't be held responsible for writing up some XML style sheets.
Yet again living up to your nick!;)
In this case surely the guy would also be those who upload illegal torrents to TPB, so I don't see how your defense applies.

Yep the price is pretty reasonable.. though I don't have any real uses for it, I'm already far stronger than I need to be for day to day life as an IT professional!
Now, if they added on a rocketpack with say 5 miles range then I'd consider it a worthwhile investment as my main commuter vehicle:)

Sure it ain't, it's a lightning rod. We don't have enough mana storage to use rod of lightening at this point in time.
Can you imagine it in 1d? I thought not.
That's only because they don't do drive through Walmarts (that I know of).

amazing framerates of 1 and maybe 2
Would I be correct in assuming the obvious of 1 to 2 frames per pineapple, or are we dealing with a non standard unit here?

It's not often that slashdot makes me laugh, but I was close to spewing celery all over my keyboard there :)

Seems a bit of an oxymoron.
And I want one. With lascannons.
