No, because it's a different context. Shut the fuck up is usually when speaking directly to someone, shut the bugger up is used when talking about something to do to someone else (sorry for not knowing the grammatical terms for the differences *shrug*). Technically you could refer to someone as a 'fuck' if you wanted to, but it's a bit OTT for most cases.

And it would be to your benefit to consider more than just what one side tells you. I don't like the attitude of Bush et al who are just trying to pretend that there is no problem and that we should all just keep fucking up the earth however we see fit, but the climate in the world has changed vastly over time, ice ages, blah blah blah, and nobody has actually shown (as far as I'm aware) any conclusive evidence as to how we ourselves are actually affecting this, mostly because we don't have the mathematical models or possible experiments to prove anything conclusively.

Maybe you played the console version or something, I've only had the PC ones, so I've always found the gunfighting to be okay (mouse ftw :P ). The cars do have different handling, some are front wheel drive, some rear, some 4WD, I used to mess about with the vehicles in the original III but since then have just stuck to the built in versions. Seriously there have been good improvements on the series, mostly to do with the new types of vehicles like motorbikes, proper planes (none of your dodo crap thanks) and choppers, the jetpack, etc. And if you dont play the missions then you're missing out on a lot of the game. It does tend to get old a month or two after you've completed all the missions and just spend all your time driving around, but that's hopefully where multiplayer will shine in GTA IV, there will hopefully always be something to do :)

I agree that Manhunt was awful (in gameplay terms), but the GTA games are pretty much the best I've ever played, doing several genres well, in a freeroaming environment, and getting better with every release. I fail to see what problems you could have with it unless you just think it is unethical

I think substituting 'laziness' for 'ignorance' or 'forgetfulness' in the GP's comment would make more sense.. and also it precludes people from taking spur-of-the-moment day trips. Still, it's all an interesting idea.. hybrids still seem like a better idea for long distance driving at the moment, so that you can just top up without having to wait for a recharge.

I take it these changes under the hood involved putting in a lot of 'wait' commands. I've refused to let anyone get Vista on a company machine so far, but our CEO went ahead and got himself a VAIO with a flippin 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo, and it runs slower than other machines we have that are several years old. It's pathetic. Utterly pathetic. Also if you think that the other OSes haven't changed at all, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.. for one thing you shouldn't just talk about 'OS X', you should be thinking back to Mac OS in the 80s and considering the development on it since then. Also Linux has undergone an insane amount of development. Maybe the security practices haven't changed that much, but that's because they're actually sensible, and work, unlike one other OS that I can think of (which you appear to want to mate with..)

I can buy a very pretty Mac for twice what a comperable PC (that actually runs my software) would cost. Try doing some research before making claims like that. When I specced up some Dell options next to a Macbook Pro I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were the same price (though of course I then had to buy a Windows license to run windows software at work, but it's company money anyway, not mine..)

It does seem pretty simple, what's the issue? o_0 I dont even use C++ that often but it's pretty obvious that the program reads in a bunch of user inputs and prints them out in reverse order.. I consider the code that I write myself to end up a lot more confusing There was one particular function that generated a set of random paths around a graph in a way that no matter what junction you started from, you ended up at a goal node (was for some Counter-Strike bots before they got those crappy commercial ones). I managed to screw it up somehow and had to rewrite it because I couldn't even tell what was happening with my code anymore, but the second time I wrote it it was a *lot* cleaner, because I'd spent a lot of time on it already and managed to see ways that I could simplify the code. For any decently complex algorithm you write, the code probably *will* suck the first time round unless you have done something similar before.
