Most decent mobiles have a video camera mounted on the front these days anyway.. stills camera on the back, video cam on the front. Not that I've ever used it of course.
My phone also has a touchscreen, which doesn't have any scratches that I've noticed, and the fingerprints just wipe off... we already have all the technology for loads of cool stuff that is supposedly 'future' tech. We just don't have the right pricing schemes.. stupid greedy telcos..
I've been pissed off at Microsoft bloat ever since (well actually, before) I started using PCs. I was used to my Macs and Amigas, and especially on the Amiga scene since there wasn't much in the way of new hardware being made (apart from getting PPC boards etc), then I think a lot more was made of optimization. Since we have so many raw Mhz and so much RAM in our machines today, most new coders never need to think about making sure that their code runs efficiently.. it's sad. In Vista's case, it is just INSANE though. You're totally right that the OS should be there for support, rather than being the star of the show.
I think he may have been talking about those 'friend' things. I've sorted people's computers for free before (okay so I got free beer/chocolates, but I didn't ask for anything:P)
Having a self replicating machine for the sake of a self replicating machine is pretty pointless. Though maybe that makes life pointless, but angst aside, can't 3D printers already replicate themselves? At least if you build an assembly line in. A self replicating robot let into the wild would just cause havoc with our ecosystems and ravage all the decent raw materials we have:O
I think they've missed a chance for major punnage..
"In a phleghmboyant ruling for the anti-malware industry, Judge Coughenator of the Western District of Washington spat out Zango's lawsuit on the grounds that Kaspersky was immune from liability under the Communications Decency Act."
except that Manhunt is incredibly boring.. Soldier of Fortune could be good.. the first one had something like 26 different damage zones, I played the demo a few times just to test them out. I more thought it was cool because of the programming involved, and the ability to make games more tactical, rather than because it was 'killing' people though tbh..
I think GTA should just be in its own separate 'awesome' category. Flying, driving, cycling, shooting, playing pool, etc. All done with good quality and playability. If you don't like the shooting then there's plenty of fun to be had just from being able to roam around:) It does eventually get old by yourself, but since GTA IV is going to have network play AFAIK, it has a lot of potential..

"And what about a database server used by apps developed with OOo Base"
You mean people would actually use that rather than MySQL/PostGRE/whatever?
Eww. Wouldn't a boot be preferable? I'm sure MS would just enjoy a finger anyway.
So we're left with shake. Should work fine as long as Nintendo or Anne Summers don't sue them for nicking their rumbly technology.

Exactly. I can't possibly loose.
So you're saying you care? *sigh* I'll fight all these misheard sayings one at a time until I die. Here, here!
Why not just have wipers on the solar panels? Or a vibrate and anti-static function like you get on CCDs in digital cameras.
Wait, isn't that what Microsoft does? How is that doing it 'right'? Or was that sarcasm.
Have you read any of the parent comments at all?
Yes. They're a brand of optical media (and maybe some other types too).
He works in marketing for Verbatim
He can't even spell Ubuntu :O I thought he had more than one account. AC must have more privileges than all his accounts put together!
/. some kind of soap opera.
Twitter seems to turn

Keep out of reach of malware authors.

Yeah, everyone knows that Demented Monsters isn't a quester playable class, it's the DM that controls them.
I just thought of something.. is it more powerful than a PS3? If not, then that would probably be the way to go for cheap supercomputing needs..

Now I know what happened to my pet gecko after I implanted that KITT LED kit.
The only line I remember is "DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!!"
Sadly.. chicken has already invented the wheel. *shudder*
Sure - it can run amok, but can it run Linux?? And can we have a beowulf orgy .. er.. cluster of this life
