Um. Taste buds are for, you know, tasting. Chili's will irritate your eyes, nose, throat, all around your mouth, your intestines, cuts.. probably your ears.. anything sensitive pretty much. They're also awesome.
Apple didn't get ahead by being a better desktop though, they've got ahead through "synergy"/halo effect with iPod/iPhone/iTunes. So much so that my flatmate who loves his iDevices has been considering buying an iMac despite not wanting to touch any other OS than Windows in the past..
Ah, mine is a 5. It convinced me that eBooks are worth it, so I bought a Kindle. I still use the Streak if I'm bored and haven't had the foresight or occasion to bring my actual Kindle.
Hmm yeah, I suppose I should give credit where credit is due for 7. They stayed committed, and eventually 5 months after release, they figured out how to do cut and paste. Good job guys! Sorry that I wasn't more positive.
Same, except I refer to my Streak as a phone. People think I'm crazy! The Streak is a decent eBook reader when in landscape mode, but I do prefer larger devices if I have them to hand.
I have a Kindle and a Xoom. I prefer the Xoom for indoor use, and I've read several novels and one textbook on it so far. I've also seen many posters here who say they read on their tablet. So it seems to be one of the primary functions of most geeks' tablets at least.
People who are seriously into their politics and sport are often crazy, but I certainly don't find them interesting.. batshit crazy is slightly better I suppose, but it can still be tiresome.
That gets rid of the anonymity of voting. Some people care about that kind of thing.
(I'm indifferent - I wouldn't mind my vote being traceable back to me, but then I don't live under an especially oppressive regime, and even if I were to vote I wouldn't be voting for the BNP or anything like that)
The costs for simply counting the votes would be pretty small compared to setting up the rest of the election I'd imagine. Also, the costs (in more ways than just money) of letting crooked people get into power are massive.

In the UK we spell the meat dish chilli. I thought this contest was about peppers too..
of your comment in the subject line the "WTF effect"?
Don't you need to educate your politicians before they will be able to improve the school system?
Yes. In the same way that having a hand chopped off is better than losing your penis.
I have an idea for an anti-whooshing device. I'll let you in on the beta test as you seem like a good candidate for it improving your quality of life.

Thankyou, first useful answer. It's good that they're now getting a clue, but they're a couple of years late for keeping my custom.
It'll work fine if people teach it to their kids, grandkids, great grandkids and so on.

I'm not sure of the first parts, but they end in @Microsoft.com

That's why it's called Kindle :)

My question is, if this release is "people first", wtf was first in the other versions? "Smallest effort money grabs first"?
What you do is you unwrap it, and put it in your bag.
Now if you want to steal it without anyone noticing, that would be a different matter..
Yeah. They don't even glow! Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.....
I thought there was a built-in option to download everything you ever said/did/uploaded in a zip? I remember seeing it, but never actually used it.

Thus this is a perfect story, because all comments will be batshit-crazy.
FTFY..
Did he get to see who you voted for?

Unfortunately where I live, housing prices have stayed much the same..
