Also, if anyone's heard the extremely well-done satire of Rush Limbaugh, transcribed at http://www.vegsource.com/talk/pub/messages/570.htm l, you might find that audio file could very well be descriptive of Jacko. To get the full effect you'd have to listen to the audio file first though.

    Other way around

I concede to you on that point. But you do raise an interesting point by saying How the fsck could the big record labels... Perhaps this is just another RIAA PR stunt, much like suing 14-year old girls and they're hoping that sattelite radio HW makers will simply fold over like the average Joe/Jane does when faced with a lawsuit.

I for one am hoping that they will not fold. Besides, I feel this is a slippery slope they're on. Taking action against the HW manufacturers == taking action against companies that make stereo systems with built in tape recorders.

Although the quality is vastly different (FM radio on tape vs. sat radio in MP3 format) I dare say the comparison is valid.

  15. WTF? on RIAA Goes After Satellite Radio · · Score: 1
Okay, if I understand sattelite radio buisness model right, they're paying the record companies for the right to play the songs on the services.

I don't see how the sattelite radio equipment makers can be thinking straight in this matter.

Then again, ANY sattelite radio hardware that could take a headphone connection has been able to (indirectly) record songs (send output to PC, which is running a program like Cool Edit Pro.) Damn, missed chance for a 1stpost with meaning too :(

Using encryption software/devices should be taught in every highschool in this country

I doubt the state education boards -- who I dare say are in lockstep with the Feds on this matter -- would give the modern day highschooler the tools to maintain their freedom, as it would not be in The Party's best interests.

Mod me flamebait for this, but the Republican Party has turned into the amerikanische nationale sozialistische (loosely translated as "National Socialists of America") and the Democrats have turned into ANS Lite. Look at the McCarthy Era (links in parent, grandparent, and/or sibling posts, not looking it up due to laziness)

I'll leave you with two final notes:

If George Washington, John Hancock, or the other Founding Fathers were alive to this day, they would probably be in Abu Ghraib prison right now, for 'terrorism'.

WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. I know, I've read that book too.
