Trust me, i've looked around a ton. If you're willing to drop mp3s, then the pioneer dv333 is great.
It'll do dvds, cds, cdr, cdrw, vcd, it does all of them well.
Composite video output, s-video,
96khz optical and coaxial digital audio out,
And you can probably find it for just a little over $200.
It really is good, and there really aren't any good combo players that do mp3s, maybe in a few months or a year. But the apex ones are gimmicky crap.
The requirements for a project don't necessarily
stay the same throughout the course of a project.
You could be halfway done and all of a sudden be told that you need to add new features or support
whatever random thing a client just thought up.
Despite the fact that this doesn't fit in at all
with the rest of the design.
And so the new features or whatever get crammed in.
I disagree, you could definitely have more bandwidth than you could use. Sure it might take tons more bandwidth than anyone has right now. But there is definitely a limit to how much i could use at once.
How many video feeds, mp3 streams, etc... could you watch/listen to all at once?
Yeah, bascically the first three books are the core, and are what's really good. God Emperor is
still good, but starts getting a little bit crazy.
After that all bets are off, and everything just gets entirely too crazy
actually Enlightenment is working towards becoming a desktop shell. not another desktop environment. I believe that the enlightenment website explains this in more depth
That is very strange... Enlightenment runs very quickly on my measly 120 Mhz. Not choppy in the slightest bit. Also due to Enlightenment's design all of the eyecandy features don't slow the program down any if they are disabled. If you do turn on all the crazy features and use a theme with a big footprint it could be a bit slow though. I recommend that you give E another shot. It has definitely been getting progressively better and better. Just when i think i can't think of any thing that would make it better, they add some cool new feature that i quickly can't live without.

wow, that's crazy i've got an old p200 myself, but with only 96 megs of ram, but I use Mandrake and KDE runs great on it.

no no, PerlPERL was implemented long ago. There is a perl interpreter written in Perl on CPAN called PerlInterp.
