windows ce mobile 2003 phone edition os

    64 mb ram
    400 mhz arm
    sd card slot
    bluetooth
    tri band phone with gprs
    camera
and so on and so on

and this even not the latest htc device. the latest one (sold as t-mobile mda III) has got integrated keyboard and w-lan.

you really can play music and video on it, or even play music in the background and work with it. or have a gps navigation in the background and the to-do list in the foreground and switch seamless between them.

multitasking and hardware power, that's where palm lacks.

the only two problems of the pocket pcs are quite short battery times and the somewhat instable operating system.

third, ussr lost the cold war basically because of the total corruption.

anyway, many technologies of the ussr were far behind the us technologies. the only reason, why ussr could achieve amazing things lesser tech was because of many brilliant and dedicated people working for the defence industry (and that for very little money)

that what was in the ussr was not marx' communism but an abomination, made by lenin and made even worse by stalin.

if you would read marx carefully, you would see, that he was right back then, in the beginning of the 20th century. and while he is not that correct now, as he was correct back then, his works have still lot of truth in them.

face it, if not his works, and the resulting selfconsciousness of the workers at the beginning of the 20th century, you would be basicly a slave of a company you are working for.

anyway. a human is a social being. it cannot survive alone. okay, some lone wolves can, but they are not the majority. for a human, a small community is absolutely needed. and if you live in a small community and don't do anything for the common good, you soon will be abandoned and probably would lost all your property if there is a fire in your house one day.

it is actually in your mutual interest to work for the common good. in a really big community you also work for the common good - if you pay taxes.

chechnya could be conquered for years. but there are two major problems

    1) corruption. there are lots of people on both sides who earn real money off the ongoing war. i know some russian special forces people who fight in chechnya. they are always held back instead of going in and do something because it would end the war too fast in that case.

    2) it is a civil war. you cannot do carpet bombing and such in a civil war on your own land. and without a massive air support, the equipment on both sides is pretty much the same.

actually wrong. stalin was in the communist party, but there he was a quite conservative one. after lenin died and stalin got the power, one could see, that he was truly nationalistic (communists are internationalists).

he put lots of his fellow countrymen (georgians) into high position (for example beriya as nkvd - the organisation that later became kgb - chef) and decimated lots of different ethnic groups living in ussr (jews, tarars, germans, chechens...)

in case of stalin, political compass is wrong. he was no different than hitler at all. all his "socialistic" reforms were just for gaining control over the people.
