The law clearly says (Â11 (1)) that handguns - and only handguns - need a purchase permit (Waffenerwerbsschein), and this is exactly what I have written. Long guns could be acquired without a permit - except for jews, gypsies, socialists and communists - this is what is meant by "unreliable persons". Exactly what I have written. Carrying, on the other hand, needs another permit (Waffenschein - Â14), which is also exactly what I have written.

You are comparing apples and submarines. The blacks in the USA are natural born citizens, as were their fathers and their grandfathers. They speak the language, they have all the papers they require while the blacks in Sweden are mostly recent immigrants who not neccesarily speak the language and have foreign papers. So what you are saying is that USA totally fails to employ their own bloody citizens - they have at best twice the employment rate of immigrants elsewhere.

The application developers had only to test for the hardware they actually need. If the application needed a barcode scanner, it would obviously be only installed on handhelds that had one - people who owned smartphones back then usually knew what they want and what they had. The rest of your argumentation is even stranger - what does the availability of data plans have to do with anything? Or that only one had a capacitive screen (which I hated, by the way - that was my biggest disappointment in HTC HD2) and some had CompactFlash readers?
What Apple offered was "my way or the highway" and the interface dumbed down so much that any idiot could use it. Unfortunately, if you create a system that any idiot can use, then only idiots will find it useful.
At the time there have been perfectly usable smartphones where you could install any appication compiled for the platform, independent of the telco provider and you also could write your own. I did not get the whole iphone hype back then, and I still don't.
I still use a decade old Thinkpad. Works fine and the only two modern things inside it are the SSD and the WiFi card - I need the 802.11ac support. A Core2duo is absolutely fast enough for HD video. My decade old PC is doing fine as a home server. All solid capacitors FTW.

Limited liability companies - all telco companies are that - exist only because the government allows them to. Free market fundamentalists like you often forget that. Don't want the government to meddle - accept unlimited personal liability.
