That is probably all he will be charged with. Its like a drive-in movie. If I can stand in my back yard and see the screen next door they can't very well charge me for "stealing" their waves of light. I understand the difference in this case that he was "stealing" their bandwidth that they paid for but then again the drive-in movie theater paid for the photons that were splashed on the screen. Unless I jump their fence and end up on their property they couldn't charge me. This guy will get a trespassing charge do some community service and move on to another hot spot.

Oh please. I spent 30 minutes (30 MINUTES) trying to cancel my AOL account. I was way too polite for 30 minutes and they gave me all sorts of excuses why I couldn't cancel and it wasn't until about the 30-35 minute mark that I threatened to call my lawyer did they concedee the fact that I did in fact have the right to terminate my service. Vicent isn't the asshole. AOL is the asshole.

Actually...before YOU have a kneejerk reaction...do your research! There are many places in the country either requiring pet owners to chip their pets or considering a measure that would do just that. Many shelters will not let you take your animal home until they have inserted a microchip. Chicago is the latest to consider a measure for dogs: http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7003728264 /

I hear you...I don't have any digital needs that I want my cell phone to fulfill except completing incoming and outgoing calls. I still use a Sanyo 4700 cell phone that was bought over 4.5 years ago that suits my needs perfectly. It has a kick @ss speaker phone a great battery life and a terribly simply interface for doing exactly what I want it to do - make and recieve phone calls! No camera, no fancy ring tones, no downloadable games, no MP3 player...

I don't know about you, but "quiet" conversations on a plane annoy me now. I can't imagine 10 different "quiet" conversations going on around me at once.

I travel a couple of times a month and I still just laugh and shake my head at the people who the *very second* the plane rolls off the runway after landing have their phones out. It never fails that the guy next to me who is fratically dialing ends up spending the next five minutes the plane is taxing to the jetway telling his girlfriend/buddy/boss about how he *just* arrived and how great his Diet Coke tasted at 30,000 feet.
