  1. Re:Recall only when something blows up! on Dell Battery Recall- Win for the Web · · Score: 1

A while ago the site that I am working at had the same problem. We have over 1800+ Dell GX270's and 280's. When we first discovered the problem Dell tech support didn't know who we were and treated us pretty crappy. Once Dell found out that we had such a large contract with them, they sent a team of 10 contractors and 2000+ motherboards and replaced every single motherboard in the building regardless of which capacitors were on the boards. Of the 1800+ motherboards I would say that we had maybe 1300+ that had the Nichicons. I can't stand Dell's tech support and the only thing that lets me stand the company as a whole is that they gave us Dell Certified Tech status and can order parts off their website without having to go through tech support.

In my opinion, Gamers, being screwed in the b(_*_)d since Atari's E.T. I hate not being able to use my online screenname but normally I don't use this screenname on MMORPG's. I only use it for the sign on stuff, due to the more people using the game the more likely it will have hacking attempts, which is why I use different character names. It took me awhile to come up with this online name cause I wanted something nobody else would come up with. So if you ever see another post by the same name or online in a game, it's me.

  4. Whats the big deal? on CA Violent Games Bill Comes Under Fire · · Score: 1

This is basically the same thing that happened back in the day when they put the parental advisory stickers on cd's. It helped for about a year and now no one really cares that much anymore. Basically to me the only people that are against this are people under the age of 18. And if you think its infringing on freedom of speech my question is how? They aren't saying the stores can't sell the games. And anyone younger than 18 is not qualified to vote therefore do not recieve the full benefits of the bill of rights. Anyways this is my opinion and if you don't like it, good, thats your right.

  5. Re:The thing is... on ESA to Sue California Over Violent Game Law · · Score: 1

In my opinion you are right. The stores that sell the games and the Movie theatres that sell tickets should be ACTIVELY enforcing their policies about selling to minors (this is includes asking for ID and having a parent or guardian STANDING there paying). Parents should also pay attention and do research on the games they are buying for their children before they even buy the game. Ultimately the government shouldn't be involved at any point unless a store is found selling to minors (ex. would be cigarettes, same concept, different results). As much as I hate California and some of their stupid laws they have at, with this and in the past, at least started the ball rolling in the right direction whether or not the law is right or clear. We shouldnt be blaming single parties but be blaming the whole for not ensuring these laws are enforced. If each party is doing their job this whole thing wouldn't be a problem.
