So much of the code is written by the few core people, what motivation is there for others to contribute, when any schmuck that comes by can take it and bundle it in some totally non-free product and make a bundle of cash from it. Thats not the kind of freedom I want.
The GPL may be a bit restrictive to some, but at least it keeps people from being ripped off. Nothing is worse than feeling like a sucker. The BSD license almost guarantees that feeling.
