"Let's hope that these first prototypes do not warrant any design changes and that the testing goes well so that countries that expressed interest (Brazil, Libya, Nigeria, Argentina, and Thailand) can start distributing them soon."
Translation:
Lets hope that these units are flawless(which hardly ever happens) and are swiftly distributed to a reputable re-seller on ebay so I can get my hands on one.
To state the obvious, Linux needs an effort similar to OSX; to provide a GUI shell which encapsulates all the necessary tasks an end user has, bug free and stipulation free. Users are not willing to revert to a command line for ANYTHING. Nothing will have a greater impact on consumer adoption than this. Perhaps Ubuntu/KDE/GNOME are making strides in this area already. In addition to corperate backers pushing/funding vendors to open hardware, these entities have the resources to further push desktop adoption by supporting more standard, cross-platform approaches to game development such as OpenGL, SDL or similar. There simply isn't enough going on in this area. Why aren't we seeing "Open Game Development Studio XYZ" funded by a corperate?
It may be too late at this point but can we please ban the word "[cC]yber" from use in the U.S. government? This can go for any other stupid, vague, technology fantasy land word as well. This kind of nomenclature just helps make us look like ignorant idiots the world over. Not that we needed it in that department.
I've enjoyed using slack purely because it doesn't try to get in the way of an experienced linux user with a mess of configuration utilities and package management. At the same time it provides enough basic, simple, and direct facilities to avoid the desire to roll my own distro.
"Windows will give a 30 day warning and when the 30 days is up and WGA isn't installed, Windows will stop working, so you might as well install WGA now."
Or the 30day_removal_whatever.exe crack which will come out well in advance of this.
Its great that they offer this free to enlisted active duty , and its often used as an a recruitment incentive. However in reality the waiting list for this procedure is often atleast 2 years, speaking from personal experience.
I would also speculate that this could be used to render overpasses, tunnels and the like. The current 2d nature of google maps is incapable of this, making travel at in metro areas confusing at times when using printed maps.
Holy crap, a geek from the CofC! I was interested in taking some courses there while I've still got Tuition Assist through the Navy. How is the CS program?
When I received this on battle.net U.S. west:
Pimp_Azn_Hwang:
1 CBABY 4 UR 10 SOJ.
2 CBABY 4 UR 100 PSKULLS.
Limited tyme off3r loLz!11
Considering cloned babies hadn't even showed up on bnet's official D2 item list, it was obvious!
As if the hordes of Zelda fan boys needed such incentives.
And they want their multi-paradigm shifting, leveraging by XYZJSDHTML web based content management system solutions back

What the hell does your grandmother need with a 3Mbps connection?
Other than the nod to BSDM space suit fetishist?
As if millions of software vendors in the far east cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced.
So now I can accuse friends of table watching instead of screen watching when I get pwned? Great.
