Ok, I'm going to set aside my tin foil hat, but some of these ideas are what I would consider "bad". I hate when people put "privacy concerns" to things that only really impact you if you are breaking the law.
A mag-swipe as part of the ignition system could also be used as an anti-theft device. Or taking this a step further using bio-metrics. The mag strip could be used to keep people who have suspended licenses from driving. How many times do you read an article about some drunk that killed someone, and they had a suspended license from a prior DWI offence?
I think technology can indeed save lives. If by knowing that a person is a wanted felon, most likely armed before walking up to a car can save the officers life. Keeping that person who drinks a bottle of vodka every night and has been arrested several times for DWI from driving could save lives.
The only thing I am against is make sure there is still the human factor. I disagree with tickets by photo. If you really want to help keep the street safe, bring in a few more officers and enforce the law, but do it face to face. If I'm being accused of breaking the law, I would at least like to know who it is that is accusing me, and have a chance to explain my side, not just the picture of you driving past.
They recently put in a speed camera here in DC, which I really have a problem with since everyone knows that radar is not 100%, but if it's your car in the picture your guilty. I say use technology to help enforce laws, not to replace the individuals who are responsible for enforcing the law.
Don't you think the *AA wants you not to be able to vote. If you can't vote, then the congresscritters who pass this law don't have to worry about you voting against them in the next election.
RTFA, they are planning on keeping there "core" features which include the digital signatures and the DNS.
Now, talk about a blow to their company if (hopefully when) ICANN removes their control of.com and.net
I wonder what their buisness case is for this..I've never seen step 3 in the buisness case "Watch 50% of your core buisness go up in smoke because you didn't listen to the warnings from ICANN"
What I always find surprising is that people will just try to figure out a website.
People make a living off of this, eg: whitehouse.com. It's a dirty business practice, which needs to stop.
People should use search engines if they don't know what the website is, not just enter blind URLs. Sitefinder will encourage this type of activity. I find this a major step backwards in the development of the WWW.
Sorry if you are one of the slime who makes a living off of this type of advertising (if that's the correct word for this type of activity)
I also do the same thing, I'm usually quite shocked when I find a place that doesn't take my credit card.
I will use cash in a mom & pop store quite often however. I don't do this because I am afraid of my credit card number getting out or anything *this is something to keep in mind however*
What many people don't realize is that when you buy something using a credit card, the store loses money. Depending on their bank they can lose a from 5-15% (it's been a while since I've looked around so you can probably get better deals out there).
It's surprising how many people don't really understand how credit cards work. I hear people say often that "The bank must hate me because I pay my bill every month. They aren't making any money off me". No, they are, not as much as they would like, but they are making their money, and the mom & pop store who is fighting to compete with the Wal-Marts etc are the ones who are getting screwed.
The pin reacts to the paper, it should still work with the new bills.
The difference might be where they mark it, since the pins work by a shifting of colors, if you mark over some of the color sections, will the background color be enough to make the light brown (good) color look too dark?
What I find interesting is that the Treasury plans on releasing new bills on a schedule. I know that after the last set of new bills came out, people were able to get away with counterfitting because the clerks at stores didn't know what the bill was supposed to look like. I've read stories already about how clerks have taken these bills already (long before they were released).
My question to you is about how much did it cost to setup this type of a system. I setup a solar power system using a solar battery charger, a 12 volt battery, and power inverter for my shed. The total cost was about 100 bucks.
I would love to have some stuff in my house moved off the main power, but cannot justify cost of equipment over the cost of using the power company.
Are there places out there where you are getting the equipment for reasonable prices? Is this a homebuilt system, or did you buy one.
Looking at a few systems such as Mr Solar small systems start around 5k.
So would this apply to all those people who are out there scamming people by saying "I'm a relative, and I need money, Guido will be by later to pick it up...oh by the way, where do you live again?"
This in addition to the current laws they are breaking?
Why go to extreme means (other then, because I can)... Now I know it may seem like a waste of good caffeine, but soak you drive in Coke for a few days...it does wonders to your data.
Only drawback is you actually see what that stuff can do...

But given a choice which would you prefer to use.
I've used both, and for database access I would prefer PHP.
New pole option?
How do they know that the figures that are found were there from the beginning and not some punk at some point put them there (grafitti)

Some things are better left unchanged. IMHO

Just curious about what you did...
Thanks.
But how are us vampires suppposed to get around if cars will only run in the daytime?
