Actually you may be the exception because most MBAs are idiots. Many MBA have unreal expectations about how fast they should get promoted and thus leave. I prefer to hire MSEE or PHDs before MBA's because they stick around when making a low 6 figure salary with pension. The MBA's loose site about value and start to nickel and dimming the design. Many times in the predesign process they will say you can't do something because it cost too much. This intern kills the future product and thus innovation stops except for simple concepts which for the most part you will find 5 other companies doing the same thing. By the way I think you missed the big picture and its companies like GM that don't have careers for engineers. Your promotions at GM stop at director or VP level(Note: Levels are different than banking)

That's even with a masters degree so maybe that's why they need this plan. Students aren't stuppid why should they waste a career/lifetime for a dead end job. Sure one out of a hundred engineers make it to the big time but the vast majority retire making only 30% more than a new grad. So don't study engineering/CS because your are just cattle for the real players.

It's like the movie CUBE give every programmer a little task and nobody understands whole system. So you have the US guys do all the classified stuff usually a couple.h files and give everything else to overseas programmers. Ya all those GUI wrappers and functional blocks that do some task. System integration is painful but it can be done.
Ok we need to get real it's not 50k and 125k. We live in a global market it's really 125K and 10.9K so you can hire 11 senior programmers in china (and they work 90hours a week) an one system programmer in US. Think I am full of BS?? I only wish I was my wife's father owns a software outsourcing company. You can't put trade tariffs on lines of code baby. Well have you or anyone else tried to buy a brand name pc in china that has Genuine XP/Vista? Two months ago I was looking at buying Lenovo PC in China. An for the life of me I could not buy one at the computer store (Park/Complex) that had a Genuine operating system. After wasting several hours I gave up and ordered one off Lenovo's china website. I think Sony had the real version but sometime the vendors copy it to several other machines. I was just trying to do the right and moral thing and that made me wait 10 days for a new PC. You can't or you will find it difficult to buy a Genuine XP/Vista operating system in china. Trust me its painfull to keep asking the street PC vendors.
Everyone should understand the concept called GE (Good Enough).
USB works and is simple to implement. Just like RS232. I don't think its ethical to design a USB device that can only receive its power from the USB cord. Many cheap low end cords don't even have the power option. The power requirement was and after thought during the requirements phase. Plus if you have a cat or rabbit tell me how many cords they chew through. Think about it would you want to replace your mother board every time you get a short circuit? Plus remember engineers have to deal with idiots that have MBAs they will make the engineer justify every cap and every layer of that pcb board.

An well we have to free Niagara Falls so that its all natural again. Then we have to ban the sun and eliminated all animals because they produce more carbon than all the cars&factories on the plant. We also can't have Hydrogen cars because currently all industrial Hydrogen comes from oil. An because you hate nuclear power you can't have the high temp generation of nuclear power plants that are designed to produce hydrogen.
I guess that if you think we can control the thermal properties of the earth by using carbon emissions. We should build more nuclear power plants/dams/windmills no one solution meets are current and future power requirements. Ps if you would like to stop global warming ban all living animals! Go hunting and kill every creature you see. You will help prevent global warming. Ha if you kill more than 6 large animals you can drive hummer and still have a net carbon savings at the end of the year!
I need more ram because when I run out of it doing simulations life sucks. If you look at Xilinx they recommend you have 16G of ram. I spend more money on computers than most small company's entire IT budget. Just built my next system 35G old one had 16G. Oh good thing I am not paying for it. Anybody looked at the Vega 2 processor. Not sure if this a real company that you can order from. (azulsystems.com)
Back to the point soon as you switch to 64 bit you double the about of memory you need. So maybe IBM was just stating that.
32Bit machine 2G In a 64 bit machine the same amount of memory address space is 4G meaning because you store 64 bit data you need double the memory.

Ie at night they generate more power from the falls and then pump it up to a storage lake. So during peak power they can then generate power using this stored energy, I think its something like 60% efficient. Couple that with what floridia does to keep motors(pools), and hot water heaters and you have saved more power then doing this. Was this really a new idea??? I can remeber beyond 2000 when they talked about storing thermal energy at night for some british building when electricity was cheap. In any case the only new twist was wind and I still don't think its new. --
I have both plasma, LCD both are 32 inchs both are sony. The plasma TV has been repaired twice. Cold solder joints each time. Personally I think my plasma has much better performance. It's hard to really explain why I like my plasma even though its reliability sucks. As for CRTs there true resolution is much better than any LCD (non military). Plus black is black with a CRT and they can change colors/images almost instantly at all temperatures. Most LCD lag just a little another thing that difficult to explain unless you have two very fast moving images. LCDs also tend to make color contrast higher than they where originally intended.
So for best performance PLASMA clearly win

So for best overall performance maybe its LCD or maybe its Plasma but saying their going to be a clear winner is simply wrong. Both can win
