How exactly does that help the people of China, may I ask? By making this comprimise with China's government, Google is affording the people access to one of the strongest general search engines available in the world -- at least in part. You choose only to focus on the negative aspect of this story, but the reality is if Google can make themselves accesible at all, they are doing a good thing.

99% of firefox users have never heard of a browser plugin. They simply fire it up and it just works (tm). The fact that you can customize and extend it is only icing on the cake.
Yup, more and wider too. Additionally I speak a half dozen languages, two of which are asian, and a smattering of a dozen more. You see I like to immerse myself in different cultures, to try to completely understand them. I am rather shocked that someone who is obviously very smart and well educated would have such a blinding and seething hatred for a people you have never met. It deeply saddens me that you would brand an entire nation based a handful of (obviously negative) experiences. You have countless times berated other posters for putting forth opinions of peoples and cultures they obviously never bothered to experience, yet you turn around and spout the same malformed opinions about me and my family and friends. You of all people know that you can never know someone based on what you see in the news.
