The question I have is: Can I run Xen with my Linux dom0 and have Windows on dom1 with full GPU support and easily swap between the two so I can run my basic Linux desktop on one hand and have Windows load up and run a game in another. So far no VM solution has real capability to use full video acceleration on "guest" operating systems.
I don't use Skype all that much, but when someone wants to communicate with me via Skype, they've never said "I want to skype you." It's always just "I'll call you on Skype."
The same should be true of OS's we use, the makers should have secured that for us as much as possible to the point where normal users do not need any understanding or education to keep the device safe for use.
I would like to add a caveat... If I have an engineer build me a bridge, I expect it to be safe for me to drive over but if I want to poke giant holes in it to let rain through or place a roof over it I should be aware that I may be messing with it's structure and accept responsibility for the bridge failing because of my mods.
That's pretty much the way Android works now. My only issue with it is that I have little control over what type of vehicles my gardener drives over it if he shows up in a pickup and asks me for permission to drive over my bridge and assumes that my answer will be the same when he decides to drive a 14-ton load over it later.
We've been reporting all kinds of attacks and Google assumes you'll contact the developer or write a blog post to warn others of suspicious activity and that's as far as they'll let you take it. The report is my sig is just one of many.
What I like about the time lapse (and hopefully I wasn't just seeing things) was the "parallax" you got with different stars in the milky way where some stars would move faster across the sky than others in the video. It felt more alive than static photos stitched together.
Yeah, it was a fun car to have for the time I did... and I don't live in Schaumburg anymore. So that's terribly relevant information for someone trying to sell me something when I live two states away now.;)
Except, well... Google doesn't just give up your information as freely as you think. It's no different than a credit card company. If you don't like it, continue to use your Visa instead of Google.
It's not like I can Google "nschubach bought ? on Tuesday" and get a full report. What are you thinking?
Unfortunately, pretty much every school I've visited requires that you do 'N' credits of something you don't love because some ass-hat thought that college kids need to take 'N' credits of something other than focused study.
If I could go to a college right now and study only computer languages and computer science while skipping all the other stuff (Psychology [which I admit, I kind of enjoyed]/English Literature/Japanese Management [WTH did I have to take that class?]...) I'd have my degree. I left school because I hated attending classes that I had no interest in.
Speaking of Address/URL bars... I hate that I can't re-arrange Windows Vista/7's address bar in Explorer and remove the favorites completely from IE8. Granted, I don't use Windows except for work where I need to have IE open for at least part of my day... but it's enough to bug the shit out of me.
In case you don't understand why I'd want to move the address bar (and remove the search box): http://i.imgur.com/b2WD9.png
John Spartan: I'm happy that you're happy, but the place where you're supposed to have the toilet paper, you've got this little shelf with three seashells on it. Erwin: He doesn't know how to use the three seashells!
Free speech says that there's no law that can be established saying you can't burn a flag or tattoo a swastika on your forehead. If you go around saying something that is false about a person, that falls into slander libel laws. Freedom of speech does not protect your ability to outright lie about a person's actions, but it does protect your right to say the truth.
I've never heard of the guy until this story. Ryan Gibbs or Giggs. Of course, I don't follow any sports nor pay attention to them when they are on in the bar.
we should have all gone off and stampeded each other to get out of the building. You know what happened? We all peacefully stood up, proceeded to the exits and went outside
Now do you honestly beleive that.
Really?
Have you never seen the pandemonium when someone pulled the fire alarm at school?
Most people cannot organise themselves, let alone manage to organise themselves into a group with no structure. This is why in Australia it is mandatory for all buildings to have a trained fire warden in each company (training is provided by the fire dept, a 1 day course) and a floor warden on each floor to make sure everyone can evacuate in a safe manner, also to check that no-one has been left behind (passed out, frightened etc...).
I know a lot of/.er's tend not to go outside much, but seriously, thinking people can organise an evacuation on their own is delusional.
Do I honestly believe what really happened to me? Yes.
And I have been in a situation where kids pulled a fire alarm at school as a prank. It was about 1991 or so and I was in Junior High. We all filed out giggling the whole time because nobody saw smoke. Now the theater there was an actual fire and it got treated a little more serious, but false alarms would simply be laughed off and joked about while you exited the building in a quiet manner.
Just a month ago, the fire alarms went off on the floor where I work and we all filed out quietly to the parking lot. 3rd floor only, interestingly enough and nobody knew if it was a drill or not. Even the building manager had no clue. They checked for fires and let everyone come back in from the rain outside.
I don't know what your experiences are, but all mine have been fairly quiet incidents.

Miracles of course.

I read: "Raging Taco Man From Pluto"
So he's one of those people that updates Wikipedia changing color to colour?
(sorry!)
That's alright, I pictured giant wheels like the shield generators on Hoth:

It's one thing to generate a png for every frame you render and writing straight to (one of) the buffer(s) of the video card as they previously did.
The only thing it points out (as far as JavaScript is concerned) is that they need a better way to render the canvas.
According to Google, it's "working as intended"

Do want... and it's not really laborious. Anything to customize the interface. I despise how locked down Windows has become.
Actually, I think a lot of people are looking at the wrong bill... The one I posted above is from February (sorry) but this one was from today:
http://politics.nytimes.com/congress/votes/112/senate/1/84
Which party were we talking about again?
I'm not exactly sure how they are related, but this one specifically mentions the PATRIOT Act:

Around here, it's a simple open hand wave...

There's also:

So could going into a store and saying that Borden milk caused you to have bad gas... but there's no law that says you can't do just that.
Yelling fire in a theater may inconvenience people and may cause losses in revenue, but it's not a life and death matter that requires a law.
