My daughter had to do her research on my machine at home because she couldn't find enough information on the president she was writing a report on at school.
Didn't I read that there would be 10 or 11 installments? I may have read it wrong, I wouldn't pay $10 for a book. I'll wait for the electronic used book version.:) --
Thers is some palm software that does take over the palm buttons. The game Subhunt uses the palm buttons to drop the depth charges and move the ship. I believe at least one adventure game also uses those buttons for directional movement. --
Looks like MS was at it again. And they complain about the AIM standard.

But here's the rub: According to the Seajug poster, Microsoft got wind of a SOAP presentation to be given by a former Microsoft tools developer to the Java user group and sent in the troops (including a number of former Microsoft colleagues) to make sure the former employee didn't break any NDAs. .
For the/8/16/24, its basically a way to denote a group or range of IP address. A/24 would be a range of 256 IP address (or what used to be class C) and/16 would be a group of 256*256 IP address (old class B). For instance, 192.168.1.0/24 would mean the range of 192.168.1.0 through 192.168.1.255.
A good read on IP addressing can be found at 3com , its a bit long but well worth reading. --
Sorry to be off topic, but while we are MS bashing, can anyone get to the sports and news section on msnbc.com? I get "This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed." I don't recall having this problem before. --
Thanks for the link. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in short its a sudent developer system with support from other student PSX developers.
One of the sad things I read in the FAQ, was that the student developers could not distribute there software outside of the Yaroze without getting a developers liscense. I hope this does not happen with the PSXII.
I would like to see some homegrown Demoes and some shareware or free GNU/GPL products for the PSXII. --
I'm still looking for a Deluxe Paint type program for my Daughter. The paint programs I've tried to get here to use are either way to simple (just painting, no animations) or to hard to learn.
Anyone recomend a paint program thats functional like Deluxe Paint but easy enough to use for a 10 year old? --
Cool, I'll have to look into installing OS2. I've used it a bit at work and I've found it to be very stable. I was hoping to be able to play Everquest, thats the original reason for my directX question.:)
Anyone know if there is a childrens book version of The Hobbit and/or LotR? My Daughter (11) saw a play of The Hobbit and was interested in reading the book, but its a bit too much for her. --
Definitly not worth if you have to pay for the games also, $50 a pop.
If unlimited game play came with the service, it would be worth it.:)
I only purchase 1 maybe 2 new games a year because of the price. The rest I buy used from $5 to $20. I also get a 30 day trial period on the used games to see if I like them, not so with new games. --
I didn't see an option to volunteer testing the software. Should they just leave that up to the users?
IMOP, at the very least there should be someone to handle the bug reports and try to recreate the situation in the bug report, then pass the results to the programmer(s).
I did notice that there was a choice for documentation, so thats good news.:) --
Is there a rejected article bin? I wouldn't mind reading some of those rejected articles.

Uh, huh, huuh, huh. She said Handcock.

If you want to see how some of the scores on old arcade games are achieved, wander over to Marp. The Mame action replay page.
There is even a 3.2 million Pacman score on there. It just requires Mame to play the playback files.

I don't have access to a windows machine, is there a PSX port of this movie available?

After getting what should be a lethal dose, the other 50% did *not* die.

I can picture one busy habitrail for a few days.

Another story on MS and standards.

A SYN is part of TCP/IP messaging suite. SYN is the first message sent to establish a connection, its short for Synchronizing.
Here is a Document by Avi Freedman that explains SYN and SYN floods in more detail. It very informative and easy to understand.
