Wow, that's some reaction. I suggested an alternative and you throw out the insults and name calling. Looks like we have a pot and kettle problem here. I didn't demonize anyone, I can introduce you to many muslim friends in many moderate islamic countries that want to see Irealis wiped out and express satisfaction when a Dane or American is hurt or killed. I'm sure that not all muslims feel this way, however in my experiences (in the countries I've been in), every one who's expressed their views on this topic has emotionally expressed the same sentiments and I have just as many muslim friends (mostly living in the west) who do endorse peace and disagree with the current attempts to censor free speach, changing of laws and don't agree with the other groups. My comments above were meant to promote free thinking... my suggestion above might seem extreme from your point of view, but the rosy picture your post tries to paste seems terribly extreme from my point of view.
it doesn't mean the vast majority don't get pleasure every time an American or Dane is killed Oh grow the fuck up. What is now very clear is that you get pleasure out of demonizing your fellow humans. You fucking sick fuck.
I suppose the "authority" that I assert to make my "judgement", or "unfounded opinion" as you put it, is experience.
I can just as well fill up my text with superfluous words to challenge your equally, seemingly unfounded opinion, but at the end of the day, all we have are our opinions, which are typically based from our experiences. Maybe I'm not asking the same muslims, in the same Islamic countries that you're having these discussions, but in my experiences most Muslims are challenging free speech, attempting to influence laws, and expressing satisfaction over the deaths of certain groups of people. Okay, maybe your Islamic area is a little more isolated or western-centric and don't yet feel satisfaction over the deaths of Danes or Americans... why don't you ask them how they feel when an Isreali is killed?
I read on various web sites that IE8 passes Acid2... a day or two later I read that Acid3 has just come out, and IE8 fails. Can you correct the inaccuracies please? I'm sincerely curious of the truth.
I would go with "inaccurate" over "intriguing", actually.
Did anyone else find it intriguing that a day or two Microsoft announces that they passed Acid2 with IE8, The Web Standard Project announces Acid3 which IE8 epically fails?
I didn't speak on behalf of them. Re-read what I wrote... I suggested asking muslims, in moderate muslim countries, who are surrounded by other muslims sharing their beliefs. Furthermore, I doubt you'll get the same responses from North American muslims for various (mostly obvious) reasons.
And you quit being ignorant... just because you can google a few outspoken muslims who are sensible, it doesn't mean the vast majority don't get pleasure every time an American or Dane is killed.
Quit watching faux news and do a little research for yourself. Is it really that hard to google for "muslims condemn terrorism?"
No, but even in moderate Islamic nations, they won't consider non-muslims as friends but instead people they should educate and convince to give up their religion (or lack of religion) to join up with their 'better' religion. While that's far away from violence, it doesn't make them anti-violence.
Ask most moderate or 'peaceful' Islamists how they feel about the Americans or Danes getting killed, and they'll typically have a look of satisfaction. I'd consider it an overwhelming majority that are not against violence, as long as it's perpetrated against non-muslims.
Lets be clear about something. Most muslims, as in an overwhelming majority, don't want to have anything do do with violence.
I live downtown with a high capacity internet connection that I typically don't use to its full extent, so I've QoS'd everything to allow excess bandwidth I'm not using to be available to anyone who wants to connect to my wide open wireless internet. Many people use this, and I've also had some students and neighbors thank me for it... I've also heard of others doing the same and I've been to many coffee shops and other such places where they freely offer wireless internet.
That being said, how will the end users know which networks are free to use, and which are ignorant people who can't configure technology (that they should know how to configure if they're going to try to use it)?
This sounds more like large ISP's paying someone kickbacks to the people in charge to prevent people from using 'free' internet, than it does protecting the children.
Also a beef of mine, however you can easily download an SP1 sku to replace your non-SP1 disc from various sources. Or wait for a friend to buy a new computer - most OEM's should now be selling Windows Vista SP1 with the system as the discs have been released to the channel.
My only real beef is you can't slipstream the new service pack into the install disk. That's going to be a pain in the ass next time I install Vista.
12 blog commentors claim to have had problems installing SP1 and that's newsworthy? I'd be curious to see their system configuration, as I'm so far nine for nine successful installs on various system configurations with no issues whatsoever (in fact, some systems had issues corrected).
Can I get more information on this memory leak?
Is it Firefox 3 beta only, or does it exist in previous versions of Firefox? I've been using 2.0.0.xx since it came out, and I've zero problem with memory leaks, with a ton of plugins installed and at ludicrous amounts of tabs. However, I've yet to try Firefox 3 beta.
did they fix THE memory leak?
I call it more gross exaggeration, than complete rubbish. The TSA people expect that you've arrived at least an hour prior to your flight, as instructed, and rarely cause you to be delayed anywhere near that long. So knowing this, and based on his description, it sounded like he showed up late and expected to breeze through customs. Since he had technology his agents hadn't experienced, they slowed him down (as I'd expect) to question him about it, while his flight was taking off.
I know it's fun to slag on "stupid people", luddites, the TSA, apple, whoever... but this sounds more like a story of someone who screwed up, encountered some people who were doing the job expected of them, and decided to blow it out of proportion. It doesn't help that the internet loves stories of ignorant TSA people who don't let people bring whatever electronics they like on board.
So let me see if I get you. You went through one trip with all that crap, and based on that call his story rubbish.
And you're assuming these idiots do exist, based on an anecdotal story.
Hehehe. You claim you've flown recently and carried some electronics, and didn't run into the same idiots, and therefore you "call bullshit" -- apparently claiming that because you took some other flights and didn't see the same idiots, ipso facto, said idiots don't exist.
I'll be fine with unobtrusive advertising that doesn't disrupt the flow of my Wikipedia experience and doesn't cause the page to load slower than it loads now (from linking to 15 other advertising sites). I understand that nothing is free in this world, and I'd rather see advertisements than send money. Why not turn it into a for profit entity... maybe it'll create a better experience?
Everyone else should read the original blog post, and note that his flight was taking off AS he was talking to customs. Meaning he showed up at or after boarding time. Airlines suggest showing up 1 to 1.5 hours before takeoff, not at the last minute.
Furthermore, I call bullshit on this story. I've recently traveled internationally and went through 8 major airports (plus 'random selection' secondary inspection in Philadelphia) throughout the world, with a laptop, Nintendo DS, two Ipod Mini's, and a case of DVD's all stuffed into my laptop bag, while returning from an Islamic nation and nobody asked me to show them anything.
Doesn't look that way... server's are unavailable and I've been unable to download this album since the original post was made. ghosts.nin.com times out.

Recommending Vista SP1 won't make the front page of Slashdot.
... such as?
So have you diagnosed which Asus driver was causing your issue?

None of the bands I listen to and download are RIAA members. How will my money get to them?
How are they ahead of the curve? They have... a phone?
Your point is?

Yes, the performance is excellent now... it was fine since that 'pissing match', however you had to go through a few hoops to get it that way.
Here's a few links that might help you with performance in newer incarnations of FreeBSD:
FreeBSD 6 - http://wiki.freebsd.org/MySQL
FreeBSD 7 - http://people.freebsd.org/~kris/scaling/mysql.html
Did you use custom CFLAGS?
