Well, since every user is the root user, and XP allows raw data socket connections....hmmn...
Nope, I don't see any potential security concerns....lets release the thing!
Unfortunately, at the school that I attent (Loyola University Chicago, for those who are interested), the Comp. Sci. Dept. *only* offers java, and stopped offering c and c++ two years ago, as the professors and chair explain, "well, that's the trend now adays. C is out and obsolete, and Java is in." Currently, as a chem major, and interested in pursuing computer science, I find myself in a poisition where I have no interest in learning java, and every interest in learning c, yet paying over 18k per year to not have the option. I know there is not "much" of a difference between the two; however, as java may be the "hottest" thing right now, I still think that I should have the option to learn C and C++ simply because I love linux, and I can't remember when I've ever seen, in the six years that I have been running linux and BSD, any important code written in java that has anything to do with the OS. It seems to me that they have lost touch of the OS and focus only on the industry needs. And for those who are even slightly interested, they stopped offering assembly at the same time. =(
Hmph, I am really liking the name. The server was what Hanson wanted, and its what Hanson got! Yeay! Space Ghost's lucky guest star next week: Rob Malda. Don't forget to tune in!
Very interesting topic. I haven't heard anyone mention what happened about 60 years ago when someone tried to create the "super human." Heres the scary part: There are still *alot* of people out there who think Hitler was right, and are keeping his "legacy" alive. People like this are around, and they will create anything they can to attain the goals that they have set.
Here are the facts: We still live in a world where killing is not seen as wrong. We live in a world where the largest "corporate sponsor" of the UN (america, of course), does not follow 25% of the rights outlined in the UN's Universal Decloration of Human Rights. We live in a world where people kill eachother over thoughts and beliefs, and people don't seem to care. More facts: Most of the world (>80%) would *never* even consider these genetic modifications simply because of their religon. And probably less than one percent of the population in the world would even be able to afford it.
If people would take the time to learn from history, and sit down and think of the possible reprocussions: biologically, politically, whatever, this world would be a much better place. I realize that it will be made available, and people will do it anyway, but c'mon, a Gattica world? Please. We need to think more before we act, and understand the technology and the reprocussions. We have burnt over 65% of the world's petrolium resources, just straight out burnt it. They will all be gone within 100 years, gas should be $20/gallon! We need to think more before we act, thats all I am saying. Scary stuff.

Maybe I'm delusional....but..... there are 3 different types of trigonometry, -euclidian (all angles = 180 deg.) --euclidian does not exist in more than 3 dimensions. - and two other kinds...both made with compasses, 3 circles intersecting eachother, one kind has more than 180 deg angles, the other has less - visualize! so heres my point... I was once told by a psycho math/physics professor that if they could actually figure out how to use that info then they could make lots , i mean LOTS of breakthroughs. Hmmn, i am thinking - like 30 years in future or more with the right research - being able to cross dimensions......from 3 to 4. ----- Whats the shortest distance between 2 points? -Straight line? Nope. None at all. Fold the paper from 2 dimensions into 3 and touch the dots. The shortest distance is no distance at all. Just bend 3 dimensions into 4. Sounds easy. Nearly impossible to comrehend with more than 4 dimensions...but...leave that to the people with brains! -What do ya think?

What about SpaceGhost? They took it off Friday night, and now its only on Sunday nights. ARGH! How about people write to cartoon network, and let get it on more often ... please?!?
Thats all fine and dandy...
But I've been waiting for Athlon SMP for a year now....
Now *that* would be sweet validation.
