your right, alot of people can't afford a computer system, but there is a population of 1.3 billion here. Say if 500 million of them have the ability to access the net (ie internet cafe's) then the numbers are easy to reach.

as a slight aside, People need to realize comparitive costs. I make about 400-500USD a month here in China. very litle by most standards. About twice as much as alot fo other people. but my supper tonight cost me about a dollar, my lunch about 30 cents, and I could eat cheaper than that if I wanted to. I could rent an apartment here for 50-100USD as well. now, most people cannot afford cars here (there expensive to everyone, high impor taxes on emm and such) and only some can afford computers. (I work at a university, and a suprising number of students have computers) but theres internet cafe's everywhere here. Within a 5 minute walk of me is probably close to 400-600 terminals, easily.

you can combine this if you like with some cardiovascular excersices, using rowing machines, bicycles and elyptical (sp?) machines. (you can also bike row or run on your own as well, but if the weathers abismal, do it inside:)
cardiovascular stuff will help the most with weight loss and better health, while swimming will do the most to tone you. the key of course is sticking with it.

  22. low power radio on The Slashdot Broadcasting Network? · · Score: 1

I live in canada so our laws may be slightly different, but most likely quite similar. I worked for my last university's radio station as a dj. We were able to have a radio station because we broadcasted at the low power of 1 watt. That really doesn't take you very far, as in about a mile or so... if your lucky and don't have other interferance/concrete buildings in the way.

It is still logisticlly possible to do this until you take into account that there is only a set number of frequenies available for use. It is fairly detrimental to have two simmilar frequencies near each other, as much static and disreuption ensues. There is also the side of buying all the transmitters needed to make your radio waves. they are not exceedingly cheap when you get all the hardware you need. (converter boxes, antennas, co-axil cable, plus whatever your going to use to get your broadcats and retransmit it)

However we have something that could/can comepete with corporate radio stations and that is internet radio stations. The only problem with them is the quality is generally very low, plus you have to factor in net congestion.
