  1. No Pimpzilla skin :( on Google to Buy Opera? · · Score: 2, Funny

I much prefer Opera to Firefox, but the ONLY reason why I still use Firefox is because of the Pimpzilla theme. Hopefully Google will make a similar bling-bling theme for Opera top priority :)

  2. Re:Why buy an Xbox 360? on Under the Hood of the Xbox 360 · · Score: 1

*Clap clap* I don't like either company. I'm gonna buy one based off the GAMES. If I wanted the absolute best hardware, then I would stay with the PC. But really, flashy graphics only hold my attention for the first couple of hours. If I'm seriously into a game, I turn the graphics WAY down for maximum performance. Actually, the one with better online support is another factor. It seems the Xbox Live is just leaps and bounds above the other services.

  3. Since this seems to be the place for MS bashers... on OpenOffice Illustrates Open Source's Limitations? · · Score: 1

I use Windows because it supports every computer game I want to play. I very rarely have stability issues. I don't doubt that other OS's are more stable, but they don't support all the games I might like to play (especially older games).

As a new graduate of the physics program at CWRU, I was quite surprised at Prof. Taylor's research. He's so caught up in his physics entrepreneurship program that I had no idea he was actually do REAL research :) I hope this leads to some more funding for him. He is a great teacher.

  5. Re:Intelligence isn't everything. Not even close. on The Prodigy Puzzle · · Score: 1

I'm not criticizing the program, I'm just saying that intelligence is "overrated" a bit. I too was a very successful student and I am currently working on my MS. I may be a bit different than some because even though I understood stuff easily, I worked my *** off. Maybe it was because I had nothing else to do (growing up in the middle of Vermont is somewhat isolated). However, the vast majority of the work I was doing I found extremely interesting. Of course, once I came to college, my suitemates destroyed my work ethic rather thoroughly :) My previous comment was not directed at the gifted kid program at all. I just think that it's your work ethic that is most important and intelligence is secondary.

  6. Intelligence isn't everything. Not even close. on The Prodigy Puzzle · · Score: 2, Insightful

I know a lot of very smart people. Unfortunately, most of them will not amount to much. I mean, they'll be moderately successful, but they won't make the news or anything like that. Why? They have no ambition and no work ethic. What was that quote? "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration."

  7. For RTS, try looking up the 4K or SK players on The World of Competitive Gaming · · Score: 1

I'm a big FPS fan, at one time I was extremely good at a little gem called Team Fortress Classic. I have played games such as Quake and Unreal Tournament, and so I can respect players who are skilled in those games. I have been a HUGE fan of Warcraft III. Mr. Wendel isn't the only prodigy in gaming. There are a number of players in Warcraft who are exceptionally good and are very well-off. Most of them are either Asian or European, where progaming is much much bigger than it is here. As much as I love playing games, I can only play for about 1 hour at a time before my eyes get kind off weird... It's very difficult to remain focused on a game, whatever type it is, for hours on end EVERY single day.
