looks like Nvidia has nothing new in their bag. the 7 series was based on the earlier series and they revised it by just shrinking it to 90nm..... now they are doin nothing more than manupulating the older cards. i don't see a point in launching this card. they have already many versions of 7900 series. this only confuses the customer. they have launched 7950GT which is lower version than 7900GTX , i think they sud hire some more people to just name their models.

This Motherboard will better option for them who wants to run 8 moniter at a time...... but i don't think in day to day ususal computing this is having any importance as u u willl not be having any PCI slots. so fitting a sound card or TV tuner card will be a problem. but people doing video editing or photo editing can be really benefitted from this. and about quad SLI i will say dual GPU on single card is better option but still u will be wasting all the PCI slots. i don't think we need 4x7900GTX even we are playing with 25xx X 16xx resolution. a normal SLI of 2 card will do fine for that. so i think it will nbe useful for professionals and games sud stay away from this.
i can see ur point there but X700 stands no where in front of X1800 GTO. u are comparing two different segments of the cards. the top end version of in that series was X850XT PE and even that version doesn't stand in front og this new GTO. first of all GTO has new features like SM3.0 support. Hardware accelaration for video. and the good thing is it consumes less power than X850 XT PE and performs better. u have more silent PC and less power dissipation. technology is moving and u can't ignore that.:)
the 7600GT which is launched by nvidia is against X1600 series not X1800GTO
well nvidia can come up with 7600GTX later as some sites have found that 7600GT has 16 Pipes but only 12 of them are enabled:)
y are u using those cards for 3D purpose. u better get a quadro card. or mod ur card to quadro versions. and no way that PCI-E x16 is a bottleneck for ur card. As the numbers with x32 and x16 are same.
Well can u see any point in realeasing new version of OS. or new fasted CPU. Do u think companies investing millions of dollors in research are mad.... dude get a point and comment on anything.... and new generation cards are not have same performance and features. ever tried playing FEAR or doom3 on 9800P...
well this card is placed really nice in the 200-300 price bracket. if u take a look at the card at that price range 7600GT will be low range and 7900GT will be outta budget. i think its better than nvidia 7600GT(only if 7600GT had 256bit memory bus y nvidia y). the moment nvidia launched 7600 and 7900 products ATi decreased the prices. i don't think we are gonna see the X1800 GTO soon in the market. as all ATi lauches are mostly paper launches. but i think its a good move from ATi they have created a new segment in that price bracket. and actually ATi had a big hole in that bracket specially in SM3.0 compatible cards.
i was on y! photos before using the flickr but now totally swear by flickr.... coz of the features it provide like easy sharing/easy upload/comments/groups/shows the no of view for each image/communities......:)
This type of high pricing is increasing the copying of music and other illegal activities..... if these songs are priced properly then i think it will help in stopping piracy.
as John carmak said in one of his interviews that maybe PS3 is better than 360 in all aspects but still 360 has better developer cummunity so 360 wud be better than PS3 and wud sell more than that..... so, i think when it comes to consoles the developer thind matters most coz u can't run games developed for some machine onto another.......
thanks to my fren rohit.... today i registered at slashdot..... i have following this site from many years tho:)..... anyways here are some more screenshots of farcry and half life with HDR on ..... but the worst thing in farcry is u can't switch on HDR and AA toghether:(..... also there is too much FPS hit with HDR in mine case its around 20-30 FPS @ 1280x960..... actually mine GTX is very limited by the processor i am using.....

all ATi X1xxx series hardware is 90nm too .... they shifted to 90nm before nvidia.
