    there are reports who say that exactly what is claimed by the article had happenened in Iran after Ahmadi Nejads reelection. Echelonm spywork was used to find out network of friends critical of the regime and those were then sort of called into a flash-mob through faked mobilephone calls done by the CIA.

    speaking about the Sahara: it is not like in Lawrence of Arabia. Sand and especially moving Sand ( Dunes ) is only a fraction of the Saharan desert. Most of it is rock and stones. Easy to build there provided you have water.
    And transporting the stuff - you should not forget the cables - as the energy is transported as electricity, not as a fuel - to Europe crossing the strait of Gibraltar.

    how much Zinc and Copper , how much potatoe, how many Amp-hours

    and not to forget: what are the waste products - toxic? how to recycle?

    for me the potatoe is just providing the elctrolyte, the energy still comes from the electrochemistry of the metals zinc and copper!

    IT was introduced in a democratic way, having the users themselves pave the way out of mainframes int the PC area - with the now stronger IT Division claiming that for "security reasons" they step back to central controlled computing.

    Win XP boots into a usable Outlook in about 10 to 15 minutes in the morning, Word works after 20 minutes - on a 2x2.5GHz 2GB machine.

    Splashtop boots in 10 sec and I can access my ! company e-mail ! including logging on with my password in about 20 seconds!

    for me our IT Division with its US-american Director is part of BigBrother!

    BTW we are back to a single US manufacturer for all computers, servers etc and also a single US manufacturer fro network devices.

    I can smell the Trojan Boot Loaders there!

    in Germany and most other Europeran countries, once you start selling something, you ought to sell it to everybody and you ought to let everybody use it the way they want ( except firearms etc.. ).

    If you do not do so you run into trouble.

    A car manufacturer can not limit the use of the car or use of fuel etc... So Apple will have to come up with something.

    And to declare Porn as unfit for iPad but not Violence show how most people tick!

    They do want to separate you from the fun, but not from the misery!
