Overhyped playstation copy??
Wow..
Since when did the playstation come with LIVE? the harddrive inside?,the ability to have your own custom music in certain games?,A controller that has the buttons spread out and fits the hand better?
and a bigger fan/fanboy base..
Sure the ps has a ton of games, but how many of them are NEW ps2 games?
I haven't bought a 360 yet,but I will soon..
What about the first generation PS2s that died??
My nephew's and mine Xbox have never died..His is like 4 years old. Still plays games just fine.
"Data is expired if there is no activity on it after a period of time. There is also an expiration date."
Honey, the data has expired..and look there's a missing person listed on the side.
LOL
I do like the last part in your post..where you could have a ton of money(save some by switching to Geico)and spend it in a different game..That would be FUN!
Say you become real good at quests..and eventually you have 10,000 Virtual Money(let's make it easy and make it $) and you REALLY want a new lightmachinegun or sniper rifle(.50cal anyone?) for your squad-based shooter..a transfer order later..your looking at a new shiny gun. They could curb some of the large amount transaction/transfers by implementing a fee/surcharge for anything over..let's say 5,000..then again it's all fake..but who knows..
re-reading your post..and I do like the 2nd idea...however in a game like Unreal Tournament or Halo2 you'd have squads of pointswhores..playing for 12 hours straight..hell maybe even clans of pointwhores..
They they might use something like Ebay and sell them for real money...there's a scary thought.
I joined XBL after a year or so..and come to find out the new content available was free..I don't play H2 online,so I didn't buy the new map pack..but what's cool is eventually it became free..
I downloaded 3 packs for Ghost Recon2.I like the additions.New maps, new guns..it added a different feel to the game.
I'm guessing it all depends on the game maker..Red Storm might make their stuff free after a time(another "corporate" game company)...but if I want a new paint job for my car in Midnight Club3 Dub Edition..I'd rather buy it by winning races and earning money by playing single player mode..
In other words, there are some things worth buying(if they won't become free after awhile)and some things that are not.
with anywhere from 6months to 1year between the release of the 360 and the PS3..There should be a good game base..Sports fans are looking for their next EA Sports purchase..FPS'ers are looking for their military shooters..etc.etc.
The problems(and reasons) why I haven't bought a GC is the game base, the controller and it looks like something my 5-yr old niece would use to play games.
Now I have a modded XBox(LEDs,better data cable, custom jewels) and it LOOKS like it's fast..then you turn it on..and with my upgrades, some games load in half the time..Does Nintendo have something to go up against Xbox Live? and what about Sony for that matter..
What's nice about consoles is the lack of HaXors compared to the PC.. (America's Army anyone?)
Granted there will be some fools out there trying to get haX into their PS2 or Xbox..but they are far and few between.
The one thing that the consoles don't have is a optical mouse and WSAD keys...That combo right there is what separates the FPS'ers from the rest.
I have about 40 games for my PC,I have about 10 games for my Xbox.I have about 6 games for my PSOne..
Somewhere I still have my NES,SNES,N64 and my original Gameboy...I don't mind having to buy another system. In my opinion it gives a kind of timeline..a look back at the past and a look towards the future.Where we came from as gamers..and where we are headed..

Actually I live here..and the majority of the residents are AGAINST the bridge.
How about NOT building that "Bridge to Nowhere" in Alaska. That would save some money.

I can't wait for a Midnight Club racing game for the 360 or something akin to Need For Speed. But I still love my FPS (Ghost Recon 2)
