I think the medical system warrents it as well.

As part of the EMR legislation, there is no reason that a network connecting hospitals over an air-gap netowrk could not be included with funding. If they want to go as far, they can even fund dr's offices getting connected.

My rate actually went down from 4.75 to 4.5 last year when everyone was scrambling to get out of the sub prime 2 year BS crap. My 5/30 ARM was traditional, and its interest rate is capped at 10% and can only increase or decrease 2% per year and that value is based on what the prime rate is.... Looks like the prime rate ain't going anywhere except maybe to zero.

My company (and IT services company) has an entire division dedicated to digitizing paper records for use in the electronic charting systems of our clients. The issue is.... there is a lot of paper, it is a really boring job to scan and catalogue all that crap, and this really only covers hospitals... doctor's offices are slow to jump on because they would be paying for something that does not nessisaraly help them, and they have no standard to follow, so who's record system do they use? they deal with multiple hospital systems, each with their own standard.

What Obama is proposing will help move the entire industry forward on this front.

Michigan is the worst. If we built light rail for passenger transportation with the rail running in a web from Lansing to Pontiac to Detroit and the upper east side burbs and to down river and to Ann Arber with some criss cross in there, and have stops every 10 - 15 miles, with stops lasting no more than 1 minute and have multiple trains so that a train came by a stop every 30 minutes, (maybe get it down to every 15 minutes), then we could have a very functional non car based economy.
