Mod parent up. Bill Clinton sold sensitive ICBM tech to China. Parent is not trolling. This has nothing to do with political beliefs. The former president did something the rest of us would have been imprisoned for treason for. I would argue the parallels between this case and Clinton's sale are very close.

I have multiple macs and am using a linksys router using NAT. I also run Vista 64 Business (bootcamp) on my Mac Pro desktop for games, XP (Vmware Fusion) on my Macbook Pro laptop for the trouble ticket database my work uses that require Microsoft Access. I also play with Ubuntu Server on my network from time to time. Most mac users I know have a desktop and laptop. My parents have a Athlon based Windows XP machine I built them and a Macbook Pro laptop sitting behind a Netgear router. I'm not sure how google culls the IPv6 data, but most people have multiple computers sitting behind a router. If not, they usually have only a laptop and a wireless router.

Wonder why a business like this would lose money. Ever try a LAN party with Battlefield 2142 with everyone at the same physical location? People randomly get kicked out. Doesn't matter if the server is on XP, Vista or OS X. Good magic. $310 million dollar quarterly loss and layoff of 6 percent of their workforce indeed.
"the United States has had incredible success fostering overseas partnerships."
Of course they have. If you are friends and are given access to the US networks you don't have to hack. Far easier to shake a hand in a photo than it is to wait for a ssh keygen to work.

Offtopic? Someone posts moo and I reply with a piece of Apple history. Just because you don't know who Clarus is and were too lazy to click the link doesn't make me offtopic.
They were forced to install those as some employees were threatening to move to Redmond where they have been providing such benefits for years. Unfortunately, when making this demand they didn't realize they would be required to be on the rotation schedule to "man" said glory holes.
I suppose, I assume, I seriously don't think. You are making a lot of suppositions and assumptions to soothe your desire to believe what you want about Obama. I'm not saying the alternative is better. Just don't assume because you want something to be true, it is. That is how wives trick themselves into ignoring facts about their husbands when things are blatantly obvious to others.
The last time the significant other and I ate at Long John Silver's there was a guy with his table resting on the table he was sitting at. She won't go back.
So if you had tried Handbrake before posting you would see you don't need to first rip the dvd's. You wouldn't have to buy slysoft. You furthermore would be able to choose ipod, psp, etc as a setting for output.
Nope. I forgot nothing. I primarily use firewire 800. I was comparing next generation standards of these products. Firewire 3200 (3rd major revision) to USB 3.0 (3rd major revision). Firewire 800 is definitely my first choice here and now. ESATA has promise as well. Drivers on my favorite platform (Mac) currently suck for it. I haven't seen many speed comparisons of ESATA vs Firewire 800 on other platforms to see if this is endemic of ESATA across platforms. I could be wrong or there could be exceptions, but I'm guessing most Windows and Linux users don't use Firewire 800 much.
I would define too many as in proportion to what firewire requires. So theoretically if the two interfaces are at full potential speed the USB 3.0 should not require in excess of 36% more processor than Firewire 3200 does. So if the processor load increase was proportionate to the speed increase I would be happy. My 2 machines are dual core and 8 core and include firewire built in. But if they and their peripherals were less expensive due to standardization on a single port type, woohoo. However we have seen what happens when there is a lack of competition.
It will be interesting to see if USB 3.0 relies on the processor as much as the USB 2.0. This has led to firewire (400mbps) outperforming USB 2.0 (480mbps) in real world tests. In todays multicore world this may be non-issue on most machines by the time it ships. In a way I hope USB 3.0 does perform well. I would be OK with firewire going away if Firewire 3200 is outperformed by USB 3.0 without hogging to many clock cycles.
Quicktime streaming server, podcast producer, Fortune 500 companies with Macs needing a decent AFP stack and Workgroup Manager to control client side privileges on Mac workstations. Another reason might be a desire not to be financially sodomized by Microsoft on CAL's but the admin has a fear of Linux due to inexperience. Don't worry. It appears from the majority of these posts the Linux and Windows fanboys are alive and well in vast enough quantities to make up the difference. Having said that, I agree that Apple should have fixed this long ago. I have xserves, but am running dns, dhcp, and such on linux.
I agree. Exactly. It aids non linux developers in troubleshooting issues and knowing if package b will work with package a and kernel x or if I need to update to kernel y.
May I suggest site sponsor dice.com? They have tons of jobs that would like a CS degree but don't require programming. You could also look into a job in Higher Education as a Instructional Technologist. They help faculty members integrate technology into the classroom to increase learning. Course management systems, video editing, web server administration for wiki's and blog's and so such. Schools can't fill the position fast enough. Pay won't be awesome, but fair. You will also more than likely have the opportunity to work on a Master's while you work. Higher Ed benefits tend to help make up for pay scale.

In related news, other companies are moving forward with MLC SSD despite this. Users of other platforms won't have to wait unless they have some undying loyalty to San Disk. http://www.electronista.com/articles/08/07/22/sandisk.on.vista.and.ssds/
