I'm working in the IT field since years and I can't recommand this job.
Reasons:
-Underpaid for your qualifications (almost everyone in the IT industry is, except if you are working for the big ones such as Google or Microsoft)
-Lot of work(As soon you finish something, you have to start another something when you're not trying to do 2-3 things at the same time)
-Not many girls around(college/university classes and at work)
-Sitting a whole week, week after week on a chair, it is exciting ? Not only it's not, but it's bad for your health.
-Hard for your boss to evaluate your work. You can evaluate a hockey player based on his goals/aids and his +/- quite easy. You can not evaluate someone in the IT industry based on a specific factor.
Have any companies disallowed playing CD's at work computers because of potential security risks
Alberta Agriculture, has banned the use of music CDs altogether, since Sony is hardly the only music company crippling its CDs with sneaky, malicious software.
Another example:
It has been brought to our attention that there is significant risk to the security and the operation of UC computers in using Sony BMG produced CDs. For this reason, the use of Sony BMG produced CDs in University of Canberra computers is prohibited.

In Canada, the levy allows you to make copy of music CDs, even your friends CDs for you own personnal use without restriction.
The 3 limit per CD is a clear restriction that goes against what Canadians pay for. I feel another law suit comming.
According to Sherman, the problem with Sony BMG's XCP DRM software was simply that "the technology they used contained a security vulnerability of which they were unaware".
So basicely, Sherman says that Sony is incompetent.
"Maybe Google will end up becoming the first sentient AI, if storing and finding association patterns between data is the essence of conscious thinking. The amount of information that Google has at its disposal is staggering, and poised to continue its growth with the introduction of Google Mail. What makes Google more than an extra-big database is the software that sits under that database, and its ability to continue scaling up. Jason Kottke has a great post on the big-picture trajectory of Google's technical efforts, and hits an essential point by noting that Google's focus has always been about what people are doing - searching, talking, shopping, and soon, emailing. Google's focus is human activity and the relationships between trillions of interactions. When I think about that , and then think about how much the daily use of the web has come to rely on Google, my joke about the system becoming sentient, by intent or by accident, seems a little less funny. you Tart... the article is not blaming nintendo.../slap, its blaming blizzard... maybe he jumped and said "Long live the forsaken..." or if he was alliance "To Battle!"...
What I said was sarcasm to say that we don't know what other games he played that may have influenced him.
Actualy if Napsters had has many lawyers and money as the Majors "babels", they would be where iTunes is right now.
The ways laws work should be changed so people with the most ressources don't get an advantage over those without.
Having two computers won't protect you from Windows Vista while playing games(specialy online games). Windows Vista is trying to implement their own kind of DRM for companies like Sony to use in the future.
Translated as : "Most people, I think, don't even know why their computer is not stable and not running as good as expected, so why should they care about.".

Xbox team : "We need a crash mode for Gotham racing 3 just like Burn out 3"
developpers : "Are you serious about the crash mode?"
Xbox team : "Ya, put a crash mode in"
developpers : "huh, oh, ok!".
I was thinking the same thing. That college student would be in jail for sure.

I wonder when he jumped if he said like Mario "Yahooo".

I uninstalled Norton Anti-Virus too. Now looking at alternatives, freewares possibly.
I think the biggest backlash to come is versus the security companies.
Where the hell where they ?
I personnaly uninstalled Norton Security from my computer as it's now clear that they can not protect me from emerging threats.
The threats of today are not the threats of tomorrow and security firms have to adjust in consequences.
Threats of today : Companies hiding stuff in your computer and correlation between companies. Think Windows Vista.
Threats of tomorrow : Don't ask security firms
Linux/Mac is not an alternative to this shit if you like to play the latest games.
