heh, this is sure to get firebombed for being off-topic, but i couldn't help but notice "with a set of crocodile clips purchased from Tandy's". i've always known them as alligator clips. more crocs than gators in your swamps?
hey yo. i saw your comment in the pre-paid phones thread, and noted the *wanted* ad for an omnibook800. i have a fully-operational omnibook800ct, with the docking station and external cd drive, all in fantastic condition. everything fires up and runs, i take it out of its travel bag once a year or so and check it out. it's not doing much right now, so if you've got a fairly reasonable offer i'm sure it can be yours instead of mine. if you live anywhere in reasonable proximity to north-central MA, we could arrange a meet and save an assload on shipping, i'm sure.
responding in the most non-aggressive manner possible, no, i live in massachusetts. and i'm 27. us young kids have been calling it a mobile for years. pronounced "moh-bil". sorry if that cramped your style, boss.
and to combine my note and yours ad infinitum, try to remember the last time you filled out a contact template on a site, and it asked for your "cellular" number...it's been "mobile" as long as i can remember.
i can't say i have a lot of empathy for gamestop as a whole. they were overly-optimistic as far as supply goes, and basic human greed will always override common sense in any situation where a dollar can be made.
but who i feel bad for are the actual gamestop employees. every half-wit person who walks into my local gamestop seems to think that the kid making $7.75/hr has some sort of magical ability to pull consoles out of thin air.
i don't see this being an enjoyable holiday season for *anyone* on the front lines at a game shop.
my response to ad/mal/spyware and virii and the wormlike has always been a total wipe. i do it about twice a year. i actually manually write down all my links, rss feeds, dumb logins and such, and just obliterate the drive. getting sp2 over a dsl line is a chore, but that's about the biggest issue i have. this is, of course, just the opinion of a retarded wintel user, and has nothing in relation to anyone who has more difficult setups associated with their os.
see, therein lies the problem. i was lightside, and still had enough force to electrocute and choke the dark acolytes and apprentices. something is wrong!
now if they can just fix the whole bit where you basically choke and electrocute *everyone* for the last third of the game...i'm not too sure about the rest of you, but that game was too damn easy. the terrible ending wasn't much of a surprise by the time i got there.

da. i've called it a mobile since i got my first digital handset. the "cellular" moniker died when i upgraded from my nokia 918 on cellularONE.
