This is the internet, where humorless hacks are everywhere. I learned a long time ago that assuming people will have a sense of humor is a serious mistake. It sucks but, that's where we are.
They did implement a policy of requiring two people after this incident. The fact is, no solution is going to be perfect. There will always be a flaw. The cockpit doors are a simple solution to a rare problem of hijacked aircraft. Most people that would want to hijack a commercial aircraft normally want control of the craft itself, whether it is to steal it, hold it hostage or use it as a bomb. The doors make that a lot harder but, it won't stop everybody. The nice thing about this solution is that it didn't cost (comparatively) a lot and other than pilots having to plan bathroom and meal breaks better, it has causes very few problems for the pilots, passengers and airlines. Compared to the clusterfuck that is TSA security, it's a miracle solution that actually works most of the time.
Except this damn language we're using can't follow rules, even its own, and you have to be completely obsessive about it to use it "correctly." Fuck that. I use it well enough to get by and everyone else can deal.
I'm not an english nerd or someone that likes to correct other people's errors online but, I just wanted to let you know that I really hate you right now.
Umm, as someone with mild autism, I can say that no, as the study states, it's not whether or not it bothers you, it's whether you're enough of an ass that you must point it out to the world that they're wrong. There are many things online that bug me. My usual response? Move on to something else. That is what people who try not to be assholes do. Autism doesn't make you an asshole; being an asshole makes you an asshole.
As an asshole that now really tries hard not to be these days, I can say I've met all kinds of assholes. (For some reason, we find each other.) Many won't realize they are even if they're told repeatedly as you say. They tend to say things about their critics like "they're just jealous" or "haters,' etc. But, I've known a few that know they're assholes and revel in it. These are the gold stars of assholes and can be a challenge even for other assholes to deal with (interesting note: most comedians fall in this category). I'm now in the third major group where we realize we're assholes and try to curb our behavior. Sadly, we just tend to be assholes with filters but, I still think it's better than the alternatives.
I think 90% is giving them too much credit. So far the only policy I have read that has likely had a positive change for security is putting security doors for the pilots and requiring them to be locked. But, that doesn't cost billions of dollars annually so it is not considered "sufficient."
Not necessarily. When I post as anonymous coward because I modded in a thread, I get my credit/loss even though my account information is not shown. But, I am logged in at the time and just check "Post Anonymously" box.
Yea, it's not as simple as I put it but, it's easier for people to digest. In reality, like most ancient ethnicities, they're so watered down by millennia of cross-breeding with other ethnicities anyway that the whole idea of ethnic identity is pointless at face value. Even if a family could prove that they're "pure," who the hell cares?
You're correct, Linus does not maintain packages outside the kernel. That being said, he wields incredible influence, more than any one person, over the rest of the Linux community (GNU/Linux or whatever you want to refer to the whole community at large) and if he determines that something must be eliminated for the good of Linux in general, he would use that influence to see that the software would be a pariah and eventual bit death. The thing is that he must see something as a great threat to stick his neck out for it and last I saw him comment on systemd (several months ago), he saw it as flawed but, worthwhile if improved. So, like most things, he left it to the community at large to decide its fate and they have overwhelmingly decided to adopt it, flawed or not. Except for a handful of foaming at the mouth system admins, the vast majority of the community have replied with a resounding "meh." With the majority of the community ambivalent, the majority of package maintainers have chosen to adopt it, for better or worse. Either get over it and learn to use it, develop and better alternative or move to a distro that doesn't use it. Either way, quit trolling boards about systemd. You lost, move on.
Trust me, if Linus decides that systemd needs to be removed, it will be removed. Right now he sees it as an imperfect solution to a problem that can be made better over time.
True but, geeks are notorious for encountering restrictions and finding a way to get around them. It's one of our universal defining traits. So they can try banning the "dark net" all they want and we'll just route around all the barriers they put up.
You certainly right about the polling. China has tried to do exactly as you described and still can't keep a lid on dissidents, unauthorized labor groups or Tibetans, even though they spend a sizable portion of their manpower and economy to try to enforce it.
Humor, sarcasm... ring any bells? *sigh*
Gold star, asshole.

Then this ; will wipe out your entire genetic line, your friend, and your little dog too! *he he he*

Ah, the downfall of spelling/grammar nazis, despite their bravado, they make just as many errors as everyone else. I love the irony.
Hey, you're hurting his feeling!

No, but, hitting them repeatedly with a clue by four can be very satisfying.
We'll see.
*sigh* Sadly, yes. It fits the example though with the masses supporting a stupid and impossible initiative.

7 out of 10 people can think they're in charge all they want and we'll do what we like anyway and laugh at them.
See the "war on drugs" and the "war on terror" for examples.

You were plausible up to the FEMA camps but, then you went complete nutjob.
Ooh! You fell for that too! What a goof! What's with you man?
