To sum this up, I have used many Macs from that era for many tasks, including Apple/Claris/AppleWorks, MS Office, Photoshop, WebStar (web serving), Rumpus (FTP serving), FileMaker (database client and server) and have been generally pleased.
I'm sure there will be a lot of iMacs up for sale. Here's some great reasons to get them cheap to do some great tasks!
A FANBOY wouldn't have said ANYTHING negative. You did. And, thankyou.
I want to hear things that would be quite unfair to the average consumer.
We all have problems with BIG companies, even, gasp, Apple, but you were treated fairly and with dignity. Which is more than I can say for many corps out there!
That's pretty damn good for a computer, especially an iBook. I say "especially for an iBook" because when I 've used those, they've seemed pretty, well, cheaply built. That's good to know that you've had what I think a pretty good experience with them.
Your right. And one guy out of a million who had a problem with his mouse, let's say, would fall into that category.
The things that I like to see are like what I see in power tool feedback.
"Even though this recip. saw was put on the "Best" list for so and so magazine, I couldn't put in a 2" wood blade without it htting the guard.
Low and behold, he was right. I wasn't talking about overall stats. Just shit that happens to people. Because, if enough shit happens to enough people, it becomes a statistic.
Ok, I dont know what the fuck I'm talking about. I just like to get feedback, that's all.
interested in seeing feedback from you guys who own these things.
I've been burned by surveys and even customer feedback on the web. I'd like to see some honest feedback. Like, "It works great but watch out for when you're running more than n applications." or something like that. Nothing slamming it or being a Fanboy - just honest comments.
we could have a thread about/. individual's experiences with Apple laptops?
I would like here from my fellow/.'ers about this because I'm thinking of getting one.
Oh, please, no Apple fanboy Troll posts. I want real feedback.
Here's my story with Apple. I heard so many great things about the iMac (Flavored ones) and when I got one: I was REALLY disappointed. It kept locking up, had to reboot often, etc.... In all due honesty, I was using a lot of MS software on it - yes, I'm paranoid too about that - i.e. MS writing shit for Mac.
The trade group, the Telecommunications Industry Association, had lobbied for the law and the follow-up report and issued a positive statement regarding the nearly $1 billion cost estimate released by the government this week.
So, considering the track record of lobbyist and Congress, how many of you re highly skeptical that the people of th US will be getting their money's worth when the spectrums are auctioned? I know I am.
My credit union requires that I allow pop-ups! I don't know how many times I've gone to legitimate websites and scratched my head for a while trying to figure out why I wasn't seeing anything - all because I'm blocking pop-ups! Firefox tells you with that little message on top of the window, but you know how it is, after a while, you don't notice it anymore.
...try it for a min or two, then dump it and move on to the next greatest thing.
I dumped it because I was suffering from information overload. Seeing all the shit happening in the world was just increasing my stress levels. Also, so much of the information is duplicated it just wasn't worth getting. It's amazing how much is plagiarized from AP, Reuters, etc...
FTFA: The Chinese government also recently increased surveillance of mobile phone text messaging, a popular method of communication in China where 383 million individuals use mobile phones.
For one thing, I didn't know that it was that easy for the cops. I bet it's even easier here in the US. Now that I know that the police have this capabliltiy, I can be a bit more vigilant about my own civil liberites, as much as I can. These things that China is doing is bringing to light some of the capabilities that police around the world have.
I am curious though, exactly how easy is it? Can some local cops in anytown, USA do this?
But there are a lot of awesome reasons that you should learn about God
Isn't that what science is all about: regardless of your religious beliefs? See Newton and other scientists who considered their quest for knowledge as learning about God. Which in my case, has a lot more meaning than the myth in the Bible and other scriptures.
The House is designed to accommodate diversity in age and abilities. The corridors are wide enough to allow wheelchair access and handrails are installed to aid walking and prevent accidents. Furniture and fixtures in the House have rounded edges and are set at a height the users can access comfortably from sitting in a chair.
I'm trying to find the story I heard on NPR about biologists who found GM genes on mountain tops - far away from where the GM crops were planted. Yes, they thought is was impossible, but it's happening.

These jobs area also fairly secure from being outsourced as they require physical presense and licensing/local knowledge.
I see many Mexicans doing that kind of work. I don't know if they're licensed or not, but they are taking many of the jobs. Maybe, you have to be an American (US) citizen to get a license. Anyway, it sure beats having an MBA! Yeah, I have one. Documented proof of my stupiditiy!

Why?
Thank you, parent for the feedback!

It's made by Sharpie! It sure does smell, though!
And what? Put an end to all marketing departments around the world?!? Are you mad?! Think of the children of those marketeers!
How would you try convincing folks who are allocated their spectrum to give some of there's up? Or am I completely misunderstanding what you mean?

I'm an American and I resent that statement! I know full well that meter is what they use to measure the amount of water I'm using! Geeze!
