  2. Never actually see it since my spam filter works! on New Kind of Spam 'Un-Training' Filters? · · Score: 1

    Hello all,

I am shocked to hear this as I have 12 active mailboxes on my server and I have yet to get spam via these accounts in over 16 months.
I use NETWINSITE's SURGEMAIL as our server and have been extremely happy with the product ever since. We used Rockliffe Mailsite before but since they were not willing to listen to their customers to expand their product, they ended up losing a good amount mail servers to Surgemail. This product has effectively increased productivity for our clients since they do not need to filter through junk mail anymore.

I would highly recommend it. check out http://www.netwinsite.com/ or http://www.surgemail.com/ for more info.
PS: those who run personal domains, you can use up to 5 mailboxes with Surgemail FREE OF CHARGE.

If everyone used Surgemail, spam is in full control of the Receiver and partial control by the sender.

And is one of the least expensive and MOST functional, Multiplatform system in a whole. Since we installed it. We ended up ensuring other client's mail servers have become into RFC Check, ensured blocking 99% of the spam to clients, and never ever send an executable virus to our clients (since it renames all executables to _exe,etc instead of .exe, etc)

  4. CC Terminals stores CCs internally in FLASHRAM. on Card Processing Software May Store CC Info · · Score: 1

    Hello stupid world,

I would like to let you know that I got first hand knowledge that all CC processing machines actually store all the CC/Expiry Date and Invoice transaction internally in the machines for several years of data depending on volume. An employee can easily print out this data and have all transaction batches printed out. If a company does not clear the memory of the units, and sells their CC terminals, you are now liable in unknowingly distributing your client's Credit Card information.

This function is not even protected by a Admin password/Admin Swipe card as well. I think that Credit Card terminal vendors should be liable for not protecting this data under an admin password/swipe card. They are blatantly allowing anyone to steal this information and have others to be able to create fake credit cards for transactions.

I think it is time to make the CC Terminal manufacturers get charged for allowing their terminals to be used for fraud and to have them replace each and everyone of them with a new unit that CAN NOT give out this information without some sort of password/swipe card protection. ON TOP OF ALL THAT, If the Terminal detects ANY Change in settings to the terminal or it should call up the CC Processing Facility and see if this terminal is active with the Processor prior to displaying such important CC Data, then the data could be save from fraudulent use.

The simple method is to ensure that the terminals are protected from any possible fraudulent way of getting previous CC Data. And that protection MUST come from the CC Terminal Manufacturers. This time they should be flipping the bill to replace/upgrade their existing terminals with new code to offer such protection.

  5. Re:Next genereation on IM On Mobile Phones · · Score: 1

Guess what... already here... Called SIP and VoIP.
Already using SJPhone to have my Asterisk server forward my calls to my Mobile(Cellular) VoIP Phone. Since I got Unlimited Internet for 100$/month on my Cell, I might as well use it for VoIP solutions too and my Long Distance is 0.05$/minute instead of the lousy 0.30$ they charge at the CellCo.

  6. Why wait for it when it is already here? on IM On Mobile Phones · · Score: 1

Uhm... Hello, IM over Mobile is already here! Just pick up a Pocket PC phone, ONLY order Unlimited Internet Service over Mobile (Preferably EVDO or 1X), and Presto, you got a VoIP/IM Phone now. That is what I am using now. EVDO and VoIP works pretty fast, but does have a significant delay. Also, MS Messenger is standard on a PocketPC phone so you can always stay in contact with your existing contacts at work or Home... Oh and you use SJPhone for your phone interface on PocketPC or Skype if you want (Don't like them personally cause the the Intel/Skype collaboration/ Anti-AMD issues).

  7. Even having 1 Spyware is too many... on Scaremongering over Spyware? · · Score: 1

I don't think that it is played up as I have seen very well how well Webroot's SPY SWEEPER cleans up computers where all other Anti-Spyware fail miserably.
"In fact, the figures come from Webroot - an anti-spyware firm with a commercial interest in playing up the spyware threat." I strongly believe this as a lot of people have NO Clue about protecting their computers at all.
I just did 10 computers convincing our clients to switch to webroot's spy sweeper and I was able to show them how inferior the other products were compared to this one. Spy Sweeper even stops ALL POPUPs including ones that are run by spyware software outside of IE/Firefox.

I would recommend that others try spy sweeper out and compare it to your other Anti-Spyware software. This software is worth the money when they get it working 100% of the time vs the poorly made competition.

  8. Simple Fix to that... on Telcos Propose 2-Tier Internet · · Score: 1

Telcos may try doing this, but actually Backbone providers will retort with slowing their bandwidth to access the rest of the Internet. So, if telcos want to play hardball, so can the Backbone Providers. And the Backbone Providers could essentially charge 5000% more to the telcos for their OC-192 connections to them to give them the QoS they are looking for.
