It's sorta funny, the only Microsoft product I like is xbox and that seems to be the one they're always having financial trouble with.
I'm now a happy apple user, I don't have to deal with windows anymore, but I still have to use the horrible MS Office for Mac so that my windows-based colleagues and I can exchange work.
Unline the other MS products I've used, i've always found the xbox experience to be easy and user-friendly.
While not as tech, I've got a timer connected to my airconditioner in the office - I live in lovely subtropical Brisbane, Australia where a regular day in summer it can get to 35C (95F) and around 70 - 90% relative humidity. IT GETS REALLY HOT - so if I start to cool the office before I get up / get to work it's pretty cold by the time I get it, but really comfortable during the day and I can generally turn it off earlier in the afternoon (read: 4 / 5PM) and the coolness of the room is enough to take me into the night!
Seriously, god knows how many reviews/blogs/posts/whatever complaining about whatever mp3 player not having radio. Why would I want to listen to what someone else picks and ads and stupid people when I can listen to what I want, when and where I want to listen to it!
Early radio broadcasts were practically commerials with a thin veil of entertainment laid over them. It took a little while for radio commercials to seperate from the actual content (when they started announcing the products during frequent breaks, rather than the programs constantly hawking a product within a poorly contrived story).
*appropriately villanous music*
Villian: now you know my plan Betty-Sue, I'm going to have to kill you with this pillow - why it's gorgeous, where did you get it?
Betty-Sue: Down at Macy's, they're having a sale all week, rush in and get 50% off every manchester item!
*screaming* etc...
:) thanks for that - I'll give it a go!

And if you've got a mac, Adium is a fantastic, cute and open-source client that does all that GAIM stuff too :)
And there weren't no women in there!
Just put the following in an applescript file in the Quicktime apple scripts directory:

My family were free settlers from Ireland who came over rather than starve.
