If you know the right place to go, you can get course materials for virtually any school. In all of my classes, the professor puts lecture notes, exam solutions, and homework solutions online. This is just merely a coordination of these efforts put forth by professors. This probably isnt even news-worthy in even slashdot standards.
"So I finally decided to learn Linux..."
I tend to think this kind of comment is off a little bit. To me you dont "learn" linux, its not a programming language that you learn in a academic sense. I like to substitute embracing Linux when people say "Learn Linux".
good point, i dont see why most artists dont advocate freely distributed digital copies. For example, i was listening to a local radio show in ny, and the djs have a cd that has been out for a few years. They claimed that they split 15 cents a cd between the two of them. They also have said that they havent seen a check for at least a year. The business model for record companies and signed bands have to change.
i had in my post, but i forgot to use "plain old text", therefore nobody can see im joking, but its pretty obvious i think. Anywho, i like slashdot because it is exciting, and, sure it may not be the most reliable source of news, it is definately the geekiest. And thats a good thing.
I feel your pain, as a linux proponent and employee for dialogic, i couldnt quite understand that they supported Sco Unixware, but not linux. Honestly now, i can say that we do have full support for linux, and the drivers seem to have quite a few less problems in testing than NT drivers do. As for the tech support, i never have to deal with them, but, i will bring it up to the customer engineering dept.
i work for a company called dialogic, and we have single/dual/quad span t-1 and e-1 VoIP solutions for for linux. Granted the price tag may be a bit steep, but the sdk is quite flexible and powerful. Check out http://www.dialogic.com/

if people wanted reliable tech news, they would go to zdnet or cnet
