  1. XFD on RIAA Sets Their Sights on Russia · · Score: 1

They can't even deal with America and they're going for Russia too? lol They're already fighting an uphill battle, with fewer people than the other side, and less opportunities to strike than the other side (they can only release more DRM software when they release something, hackers can break the software any time) - how is going to Russia, a place which doesn't exactly have a shortage of pirates, going to help?

If you are suggesting that my pattern is erroneous, please compare it to a pattern that actually fits. Gun crime - country - % of blacks 0.0279271 per 1,000 people - US - 13% 0.00502972 per 1,000 people - Canada - 2% 0.00102579 per 1,000 people - UK - 4% There isn't even a correlation there in your pattern. Let alone causation. Great comeback.

Congratulations on completely ignoring my post. The proper way to reply would have been to proffer a suggestion other than gun laws that explain why Britain and Canada have so much less gun crime than America, I await a reply along those kinds of lines, instead of a reply describing a worldwide trend, that of course, by virtue of its being a worldwide trend, ignores gun laws.

£10 says that this Anonymous Coward is an American. If this only targets law abiding citizens and has no effect on the criminal element, explain why the amount of gun crimes per capita in America (no gun control at all) is twenty times higher than that of Britain. Keep in mind that this is per capita, so population does not enter the equation. For the record, Canada, with restrictions on guns that are less punitive than Britain's has four times Britain's gun crime per capita, so I'm beggining to sense a pattern here. I fail to see why so many Americans are so obsessed about being able to have guns, there are personal rights and liberties that actually matter being eroded facing paper-thin opposition (at least this side of the pond, people actually fight against these right-eroding laws) but as soon as the idea of maybe not selling automatic rifles comes up, everyone is up in arms to protect their precious rights!

  9. HAHA! on 360 Has Best Launch Lineup Ever? · · Score: 1

Yeah. Right. The XBOX 360 had an awful launch lineup, Perfect Dark Zero being the only killer app, and that's hardly comparible to a Mario or Halo game at launch. For the record, the PS3 looks to have a terrible one too, just like the PS2. And the Revolution ... well, depends entirely on whether they deliver their promises.

  10. He got the award because of his involvement in... on Bill Gates, Time Magazine "Person of the Year" · · Score: 1

... the whole action against poverty thing, or whatever it was called. Myself, I think that Time's decisions have been very dubious at times (believe it or not, Osama Bin Laden probably had a bigger impact on the world in 2001, than the mayor of New York, whose name I know but can't spell so...) - however, I see nothing wrong with this decision. I certainly don't like Microsoft's throttlehold on the industry, especially in terms of internet browsers (is there any current internet browser that isn't actually worse than IE?) - but that doesn't change the fact that Bill Gates is a philanthropist. The business ethics of his company (rather deplorable) make no impact on the man, I'm not even sure if ol' Billy does anything but cash his paycheck every once in a while, really.
