I've been thinking, the (strong Goldbach) conjecture states, "all Positive Even Integers greater and/or equal to 4 can be expressed as the Sum of two Primes.".

A Prime Number is defined as, "a Positive Integer p greater than 1 which has no positive integer Divisors other than 1 and p, itself. (More concisely, a prime number is a positive integer having exactly one positive divisor other than 1.)". Consequently, 1 is not prime number.

The Goldbach conjecture as stated implies that the sum is comprised of only two numbers. Then what about 6? It is a positive, even integer greater than 4, yet:

6 = 5+1 (not valid since one is not a prime)

6 = 2+3+1 (not valid since more than two numbers are used)

Since there is no sum comprised of only two primes, therefore, the conjecture is disproven by counter-example!

This cannot be right. I believe I've misinterpreted the conjecture. Anyone care to flush out my error?.

My real point was, that most people don't even realize what is involved in this process(myself included) when they spout off the benefits. Seeing that news story opened my eyes.

To be honest, I don't see the greatest potential for organ growing with animals. There is work being done to grow organs in casings filled with special nutrient enriched gels. The enclosures are shaped like the organ desired, and are injected with a small culture of unspecialised cells(stem cells I think?). The cells are then stimulated to grow and specialise into the desired organ.

I can see this kind of organ cultivation becoming the preferred method. A lack of ethical issues, as well as the fact that you don't have to wait for the animal to mature before organ cultivation makes it appealing.

The Internet holds alot of promise for new artists and greater exposure and accessibility for artists that already have a following. That these companies don't embrace the Internet in some fashion is an indication of their motives.

Now, I'm not expounding the "information should be free" bit, because I believe that the original information should only be free if its originator frees it. But, I think that these companies should realize that the Internet as a distribution channel has reached critical mass, cannot be stopped, and that they should do something about it.

Instead of suing everyone that has a novel idea for distributing music, they should innovate. Set up a music portal like mp3.com and minimal charge downloading of music from your favorite arist or music style. I for one would be happy to pay 50 cents for an awesome tune instead of $18.99 for a bunch of accompanying music.

I'm not encouraging the theft of music that is going on, but its partly the company's own fault. They're unwilling to change and innovate because of the good thing they have going. They're not responding to consumer demand for a new medium. This is causing the sticky situation. If they don't do something they're going to lose, and big. Welcome to the free market.
