Supporting Apple only delays the inevitable: they will not be the leader in the market forever. Sooner or later, iPods won't be as popular as they are now, and people will start to realize that the music they bought on iTunes is now completely useless.
Since when has Sony cared about their products being too expensive? They've always seemed to have the attitude that they can put whatever price they want on something and it will still sell. Not that it's a bad thing, but this seems to go against previous decisions.
The thing is, whether you like it or not, when you see a commercial on TV you will be able to recognize the product later on. The idea is not to make commercials visually appealing and entertaining, it's to get the name out there.
I mean, when I need a new car, I know that Family Auto Mart is just off the corner of New Haven and Main Street. They finance anybody!
Well, I think the times are shifting. Just take a look at Garry's Mod; the game was coded by one guy in his free time. It became popular because of Garry's interaction with the community, he both listened and responded to the user. He will be selling the latest version for $10 on Steam, making 50% profit. Not only that, but he's receiving the full engine source for Half-Life 2, and he's getting it at no cost. This is a huge deal, considering most companies will pay several thousand dollars for a license to the engine. Big news for the indie crowd.
What happens when I give a song to my friend, who gives it to his neighbor, who gives it to his girlfriend, and so on. How is this different than all of them getting the same song from me? Sure, in the days of cassettes, there is a certain amount of quality loss.. but not so much with digital recordings.

Yes, I actually have one of the mirrors, but not used. They have a right angle so that no matter which way you look into it you see yourself.. it's quite fun to stare into because the image is "mirrored" from the image you'd expect in a conventional mirror.. say, blink your left eye and see the right one blink in the mirror.
I'm a member of Garry's team, or the "Garry's Mod Illuminati", and there are a few things all of you should know.
For one, I read somewhere that 9.0.4 was not worth $10 because of the amount of bugs in it. That's precisely the point: this new version is a complete rework of the entire mod. Most of the bugs (text corruption, Lua's instability, etc.) are gone, and anything that pops up will be squashed along the way. Not to mention Garry will be releasing updates every week or so.
The mod team is not made up of robots. Most of us didn't know that we're going to get paid. As a matter of fact, I didn't know until I read that article. The point being that we're all working on this because it's a hobby. I've been following Garry's Mod since v2 and now it's more than thrilling to be able to contribute to it and have thousands of people play with what I've created. We do this because it's fun, and, like you, we don't like it when our contraption falls to pieces or when we can't read the menus because they've turned to gibberish. Garry spends a lot of time trying to decide what is best for the mod and the community, and he's worked hard on keeping it that way.
The new additions are not minor, and more things will be added along the way. One of the most awesome features is the reimplementation of Lua. Lots of people complain that this takes away from the building aspect of the game, and that's not entirely true. The new toolmodes and post processing effects have been coded using Lua, providing us (and you) with the ability to create any toolmode or PP effect we want. Garry is also focusing on creating build and physics game modes, to emphasize the true roots of the mod.
$10 is not a lot of money, and it's well worth it considering that without it there wouldn't even be any more updates. Garry hasn't sold out, he just found some more motivation. Besides, if you don't want to spend the money, keep playing 9.0.4, no one is stopping you.

I'm not sure about this, but isn't news public domain?

Is it just a marketing ploy?
It will be replaced. Don't you remember when every website address was accompanied with the "AOL Keyword"?

Obviously, your word isn't getting around.
Oh. You're right, my mistake. Come on guys, time to pack up and go. I guess Sony won't let us have an oppinion.

Does it run OSx86?
