Look at it any way you want... it does not change the fact that this will make Linux even more viable as a desktop OS in the future to the common masses, as what they (the common masses) want is a pretty GUI and some form of familiarity.
What these new widgets will do, is make Linux look more familiar to OSX users, thereby increasing the overall Linux user base.
The thought just occured to me, that if Slashdot is gonna be posting all these 'best of the year' type lists... then maybe Slashdot should compile its own 'best of' list?
I'm pretty sure if a 360 DVD drive was louder than a 757 and if you had watched a few movies on it that you would pretty much be deaf right now. According to OSHA
Second of all... whats the point? I'm pretty sure Microsoft is handling the cooling issues well, and problems have only been reported in a small number of instances. I for one think buying this would be a big waste of money.
I know Microsoft issued a lot of patches this year that fixed quite a few vulnerabilities... but 812? My suspicion has always been that Microsoft sometimes fixes multiple flaws with a single patch, even though its advisories may make it appear as though the patch addressed a singular issue.
I'd love to know just what percentage of those reported Windows flaws have been fixed. For that matter, it would be lovely to know that for all of the flaws reported last year.
Anyone?
And is this the first year that these statistics have been gathered on a scale like this?
Stop trying to post to impress.
Only post when you have something to say.

As for the Slashvertisements...
What if we Slashdotted Slashdot?

Mostly XP SP2 I believe.
Please don't hold my balls to it though.
