  4. Just trying to grasp this on On Software Patent Lawsuits Against OSS · · Score: 1

A couple of years ago I made some data collecting prototype application in C++. In order to encapsulate the database access I made an abstract "Database object" interface with methods like Save, Load etc. From that interface I derived all the entity objects, thus having a clean interface for database operations, aswell as keeping the code communicating with the database, in a seperate layer.

Isn't this mapping relational data to objects?

This is silly. Mapping a relational database to objects is a pretty logical and obvious approach, when you need to work with a database in an object oriented language.

Since this thread is being read by at least one of the developers, I want to say: thanks guys, you rock!.
I have recently founded a company with a few friends and Inkscape 0.44 came just in time, to address some issues
we were having editing large SVG's in 0.43. We badly needed the optimisations to the rendering engine as well
    as outline mode.

We hope to make money on our product in a few months and would like to know if you take donations?.

Giving something in return for your excellent work would be nice, but we could not find the usual donation link on your site.

Anyway great work and thanks a lot :)

  7. Gamegraphics with Inkscape on Inkscape 0.44 - Faster, Bigger, Better · · Score: 0

We use inkscape for drawing backgrounds for our adventuregame. We postprocess the resulting pictures with the Gimp, since its easier to add details with a raster editor. If you wan't to render SVG's directly there is libsvg, but a more game related library would be libsugar which is capable of rendering SVG's using OpenGL.

Anyway I don't use my phone all that much, especially not for MSN. But I have a SSH client as well which can be quite useful. This story isn't even about FOSS. If you guys don't like the name suggest a new one to the maintainer. At least being FOSS you can always fork it and give it another name. Just stop the endless crap posts about the bad FOSS naming practice.

I don't believe in protecting children by hiding content such as pornography, besides the smart kids will figure out a way to circumvent the censorship anyway. Stuff like double anal, gagging, spitting, gaping etc is a common part of mainstream porn these days though. What I think would be a better idea is the good ole' father/mother-to-son/daughter talk. It is the parents responsibility to tell their kids about sex and love and why they shouldn't spit their first girl/boyfriend in the face and violently shove a 6 inch up their asshole. Makes me wonder what the administration is trying to archieve though..

You just don't get it do you? The EU haven't asked for the fucking source.
Besides source code is a terrible way of documenting how something works as you would know if you were a programmer. Take a look at the RFC's (request for comments) documenting internet standards. They don't contain source code, they contains stuff like: When the server sends packet X, the client is expected to blah blah blah.
This is the kind of documentation the EU are asking for and since Microsoft is a convicted monopoly they have to provide that information inorder for competitors to able to compete.
It's not a EU vs US thing, in fact your own government should have done the same to them.
