Funny thing is, its their software that does it as well. I regularly validate 100000+ sites a month using a copy of their w3 validator on one of my servers. Around half a year ago, their servers crawled to a halt - dont know why, but for around 3 days you could hardly reach w3.org, and my server would respond slow too. End of story, I had to hack the w3 software to make sure its not fetching the damn validation documents over and over.
A friend of mine downloaded the files and ran them through a virus scanner. Sure if this is a new trojan/virus it would most likely not find anything. But there are 10370 files in those 3 zips and many names seem to imply its indeed the GEMS software.
Thought I'm still certain Diebold has a copyright on those files and providing them for download might get someone into deep troubles. - Yes even if Diebold has accidently released them via their FTP server*, its still illegal to redistribute.

I do actually own a A780 and tried to develop software for it. There are two processors, one for the network handling (some prop os) and the other running Linux. Its nearly impossible to write a native app, you need to do major reverse engeneering. Java apps, if not signed can't do shit either. You need to be in Motorola developer program to get the right Jar files, and you can only access them if your application is signed.
On top, you cant replace the kernel - because all required drivers are released, the source its quite outdated AND you the kernel has to be digitaly signed as well:(
Means I bought a very expensive brick - totally USELESS! Never again will I buy Motorola hardware.
None of the displays have HDMI connectors and none of them support HDCP. This means you're not going to get a digital connection to your HD-DVD movies, but there is currently very little on the market that will.
So you're screwed in a year or two. Is this like easter-sale?
Most people I know choose hardware based on the fact that they MIGHT at some point run Linux on them. Even if they are never going to use Linux, they still get an NVIDIA instead of an ATI card, just because NVIDIA provides the better drivers.

I'm really wondering how legal it is to post commercial software to the web.
As far as I know this executables are copyrighted and someone will get into a lot of troubles for posting them.
Also note, why is this blackbox1.org and not blackboxvoting.org?

So GSM phones do work at that height?
Why do we need inflight GSM mini stations then?

Yesterdays news was showing how someone got shopping.eu
According to the report an independent institute valued the name at 300000 €

Maybe where you live, but here in germany Linux is a lot more mainstream.
the flying spaghetti monster burried it there!

None of them provider good OS drivers tho
