What you say is true in some situations, but by no means all. There are plenty of people with no economic problems who are still racist, etc. Economic problems are not the only cause, maybe even not a major cause. I think it's more of a cultural phenomenon.
I'm generally against censorship, but they do have a very valid point.
I don't think nerf guns are bad in a work environment. I think one of the worst things you
can do to a programmer is stick him in a cube with
little interaction with peers. Nerf guns (for example) let you relax and get more comfortable with the people you work with, and that makes for a better programmer.
I've had to reinstall Windows 2000 Professional
3 times now, because it crashes, and then
doesn't come back up complaining about a corrupt
hive file:(
2 of those times the shutdown went smoothly -- it
just never came back up. The third crash happened
when netscape died, taking windows with it.
Also, it won't reinstall with linux on the system.
Keeps asking for some driver disks.
When linux is not there, it'll reinstall just fine, without any additional driver disks.

Did you see the reports of palestinians dancing in the streets?
What is Arafat supposed to say? He wants America to help him.
Agreed. And in any case, what else is there to do?
Doing nothing is not any better....
I'm hoping it's less. I spoke to a friend who
worked on the 70th floor, and she got out, though
barely in time.
