  1. It is very offensive on Sourceforge.net Blocked In Mainland China · · Score: 1

I found it very offensive to take such kind of reckless actions on a website which means to be shared by all open source developers and users. I have written to the Notepad ++ team and request them to remove the action. If they feel they must boycott, there are tons of places for them to do so. I will bring this to the attention of SF.net administrators if they don't repsond in a timely manner.

  2. Talking about something you have no idea about? on China Blocks YouTube Over Tibet Videos · · Score: 1

Well, I might be crazy to spend an hour to read through all comments during work time. I was amazed by the fact that 95% of the people who posted comments only knew China, Tibet, and their relations from your own propagandas. Here are a few questions you may want to ask yourself for answers, I suppose slashdotters are not as stupid as diggers: 1. Many westerners automatically picture a peace loving individuals when heard the word 'monk'. There are many types of monks, and the Yellow Hat monks are everything but peace loving. They OWN the entire Tibetan populations as their own property. They can kill a Tibetan just like you can break your Ikea table, nothing less, nothing more. Panchen Lama and Dalai Lama, the two 'living gods' of Tibet, were the world's biggest slave owners before Dalia fled Tibet and Panchen gave in 2. Even the international law experts who hold the most sympathy on Tibet have problems finding evidence that Tibet was ever an indepedent country. Since Ming dynastry, China started ruling of Tibet, and the establishment of Living Gods required approval of the central government. China did not intervene much of its internal administrations, but took over its defence and diplomat activities 3. When Muslims target their violence to civilians, you call those terrorists, when Tibetans kill Han civilians, you called that fight for freedom?

  3. Re:Gist of tFINEa on China vs U.S. in an 'Internet Race' · · Score: 1

The so called race will end at the minute it starts, China today has 300 millions cell phone users (more than the total population of US, if you don't know). There are 200 million people have internet access, a majority of which are broad band. I was in China about a year ago, the going rate for 3M download/1M upload broad band is equivalant to US $80 per YEAR, or $7 a month in most cities. The slave wage of a $100/month can afford broad band service to home. And as far as I could tell, almost everyone I ran into had a cell phone -- elite, middle class people with the latest fancy model, and migration works maybe a three years old Nokia. When was the last time in human history could slave workers afford broad band internet service and cell phone without going broke?

The king of France had to wade through the pig poops on street when the Chinese had cities that rival the biggest cities in the world NOW. In her 4000 years history, China pretty much led the world for about 2000 years in economy, military, technology, etc. This trend only stopped after the Manchurian invasion 400 years ago. Yet until 150 years ago before the Opium War, China's GDP still counted almost 30% of the whole world. You may want to check Marco Polo's journey and see what he said about China -- mind you, the China he saw was after 70 years of war with the Mongols, which pretty much damaged everything. The US started leading the world after WW I. 100 years, for people of a country with only 400 years history sounds like to forever, which is fine. But you really should learn something before commenting on something that is far far beyond your knowledge. wikipedia.org would be a good place to start.
