    The end of Net Neutrality means that when you pay Microsoft $18 per month for your gaming account, Microsoft passes along $4 of that to your ISP which guarantees you'll get the speed needed to access and play their games. The middleman (government) is cut out of the deal.

    Microsoft will let any number of hardware providers sell you the hardware, at competing prices with one another.

    No Net Neutrality means Microsoft can sponsor additional data traffic at the ISP level.

    I can definitely visualize in my mind, though, a Bill Nye TV show episode (he's a tv actor, like Captain Kangaroo or Big Bird) where the experiment is making ice cream out of tomcat milk (with lots of hormone therapy involved).

    Trump's election has been devastating to the social conservative Republicans. The only bone really thrown to them was Pence as a running mate. Pence won't follow Trump into office after his 8 years are up. Pence is another Quayle, even comes from the same state.

    Trump wiped out the Bush and Clinton dynasties, and has severely nerfed the religious conservatives. That's an admirable accomplishment.

    I think he meant that Trump is a strong sociopath, in contrast to the pathetic, weak, though more charismatic sociopaths (Obama, Bush, Clinton...) we have had for leaders in recent times.

    The time is almost up for you Democrats to stop gibbering about Trump-Russia. The issue is stale, the nothingburger has gotten cold on the serving dish, and American voters are not interested. You have an election coming up; continuing to just throw up barricades is going to get you two or more additional Trump nominees on the Supreme court.

    The articles that make it to Slashdot aren't about fender benders. Tesla accelerates into a lane divider. Lithium fire in Tesla in Indianapolis roasts passengers alive. That sorta thing.

    Watch 'Revolution OS' which is a 35mm documentary film (yes, it's silver halide film) about the Open Source business. It features a lot of Bruce Perens talking. He's probably very decent guy, comes off that way in his comments. But his speaking skills are more suited to a display at a Science Fair. Very boring and flat vocal delivery. He'a one of us, an authentic nerd.

    That stainless steel hulk is gonna burn battery. Oh well, the battery is hella heavy, too. Probably not a bad investment long-term. As a stationary display in some freak exhibit your decendants will make out alright.

    The batteries are made by Panasonic. If/when Tesla fails, Panasonic pulls their equipment out of the huge building and ship it back to Japan/China.

    Panasonic makes all of Tesla's batteries. The gigafactory is Panasonic-Tesla joint venture.

    The company operating Github was languishing. The last thing we need would be for Oracle to swallow it up, or any of the other deep pockets players (Amazon, Apple, Google) to take it over. Microsoft has been a developer-centered company since the beginning, when they were mostly a language interprwter/compiler biz.

    They don't hustle advertising, and they don't sell overpriced dongle hardware required to use their products.

    But there's a certain amount of anti-M$ insanity that will always have to be dealt with, or routed around. That's ok. Platform wars have been with us forever. We cope.
