  1. Resemblace to Linux users is purely coincidental on Why Freemium Doesn't Work · · Score: -1, Flamebait

Why do his customers sound too much like Linux desktop users to me? and yeah it is a flame bait and yeah it is unfortunately true as well

This is scary. The story has been up for quite some time and no flame wars have started yet ? Either Linux fans have resigned to their fate (not likely) or I am the only living being on the planet left that is able to access Slashdot

No, don't you understand?! If they withstand re-entry heat then people all over the world will be in danger! Think, man! Think of the people below!

Well... I, for one, welcome our new reentry-durable-chair throwing overlords

Just to be a pedant, you actually have to have something a lot larger than a telephone pole. You tried to cover yourself by saying "made of tungsten," but I'm going to guess the deceleration would break or melt even the toughest of elements.

I disagree... Rumour has it that chairs made for a certain redmond company were specifically made that could withstand re-entry in the case a certain CEO really blew his top off

BTW, I hear Putin won 99.99421% of the vote yesterday, give or take a few uncorruptible precincts. You guys must be very democratic...
Actually United Russia (Putin's Party) has won by 64.1 percent of votes. which is still pretty ridiculous margin.
But Putin at the moment is all too powerful and as a result it is really hard to have completely fair elections.
But then again Fox News has so much influence in the US that it can massively
affect the election outcome there as well.

Google will never remove the 'I'm feeling lucky button' just because it
is so much a big part of the 'Google mystique'

How many emails have we received over the years asking us to type
'miserable failure' and press 'I'm feeling lucky' to be confronted
    with G.W.Bush's bio page

    or

    "French military victories" etc etc

the fun factor of this should never be lost

Well the way that survey was conducted it relies on the 220 answer from the MTA
to identify which Mail server it is.
Qmail does NOT identify itself and as a result it cannot be counted using this method

Also note that for only 52% of the queried MTA they were able to determine the
    software used.

I can't believe he did not even mention the first networked games....
Going from lonely games to playing X-Pilot against half the univercity campus in 1992 was a revelation.
And at the same time the MUd revolution started. Hundreds of players online from all over the world.
Oks there were no fancy graphics back then (but who cares), they were the frontrunners of the modern WoW,Everquest etc. that are all the hype these days
AD&D met the Internet and the labor of geeks was awsome.
Bumped into http://midnight-sun.ludd.ltu.se:3328/Midnight Sun in 1994 and it was downhill for me from that moment onwards....
