While I agree with you on most points, i don't want anyone w/ $200 and the will to stay in school for 4 years telling me what is or isn't killing me...
It seems to me that the employees know what kind of health insurance they are getting when they apply for the job. If they don't like it, they can work elsewhere... If they aren't qualified for any other job-- that's likely their fault...
(because site X only works with IE because the idiot web developer didn't test it with anything else)
I think what you mean to say is that the idiot web developer didn't care about the ~10% of the market that isn't IE. Perhaps because the idiot web developer understands that his website about flowers is not likely to interest the technical savvy group that cares enough about security to install firefox...
I like Microsoft, but I'd like to add my two cents... In my opinion, Microsoft has the market-- and will for about another 8-10 years. At this point, the people who grew up with computers and know computers (forced to use it in school) will be more capable of a move to alternatives and will be at the right age and income bracket on a large scale.
Pretty much anyone 40+ that don't use computers at work only use it for email, and right now all the 40+ people know or care about is Windows.
Agreed; what irks me is that it's all or nothing when it comes to politics. It's like the politicians think they have to be extreme on the issues so that the voters know which side they are on--this seemingly often causes stupid shit to pass. This bill is just going too far IMO.
Bush's approval rating may be lower than Clinton's ever were, but then you didn't have the media intentionally skewing the polls by not populating the poll correctly.
Also, Clinton didn't have the media or Hollywood CONSTANTLY bashing him for six consecutive years.
On a side note, why is it that when theres a Dem that another Dem doesn't like-- they say that it's because said Dem is a republican? He's just a Dem you don't agree with, quit trying to pick and choose who you call a Dem.
Alright, well I'll take your word for it. Sorry for doubting you I suppose. I guess I just can't fathm being able to read/skim so fast and comprehend what was in front of me. Kudos to you.
Ok, I'll bite. So you can read 50 words in one second? If I set a paragraph infront of you, 50 words long, for one second you could tell me what the paragraph said? Nah. I call bullshit. What you're describing is skimming.
Skimming !=reading my friend.
I have to ask. You responded to this article 6 minutes after it was posted. I'll assume you didn't load Slashdot the very second it was posted, so let's say five minutes. With this in mind, you read the entire responses and had time to analyze them and come back with the opinion that they were unwashed?
I HIGHLY doubt it. You're biased, you loathe Microsoft and you likely didn't even read a sentence of his responses.
Would she be using FireFox if it wasn't for you?

Yep, But that's just one protocol on the 'internet'.
It actually comes from internetwork, but once it became popular and widely used it spread to be what it is today...
If you wish to be taken seriously, try not using rethoric like 'Dubya'.

I know the answer to this one!!! 7!
Thinking about how to vote? As a typical slashdotter you shouldn't have to think much about that.

This is a good post, why is it that since he doesnt agree with the general opinion of the website is he modded flamebait?
