Well,
Microsoft competes with Google in the search, mail and "homepage" frontier. But you're right, the way the article puts it doesn't really explain it well. I think it's all just over-hyped, you need to read between the lines.
So you're comparing Bush's administration to the Nazi regime... Way to make parralles that make absolutely no sense. It's not "much the same way", you fucking idiot. I'm tired of hearing, or reading, people trying to draw similarities to the war and vietnam, and bush and nazi.
This is the same shit the previous administration handled things, and the administration before that etc.
Kids don't seem to be learning how to deliver mail in school anymore. For some reason, the school system has started only teaching students how to put the address and stamp on an envelope instead of teaching the students how to run a route. We are still trying to figure out why the educational system has decided to only teach what most people will use, instead of what one profession uses.
To be honest, and I'm afraid to admit this, before I saw the image on the google website I had no idea who Joan Miro was. This being the case, I looked at the img src and saw miro.gif so I searched for Miro and now I know who it is. I rather like the style.
So in the end, I think google was trying to get the style out there for teenagers who'd never heard of Miro, in an attempt to pay homage to a wonderful artist and to try to raise awareness of who Miro was.
So what's the families problem?
Slashdot is not saying it's fake. Slashdot is pointing out what could be an interesting article that pointedly counter-acts an earlier article saying that the administration suppresses "scientific results" pointing to Global Warming. Slashdot as a website doesn't seem to take a stance on issues, and like any good news source posts interesting articles.
I'm not saying They shouldn't step up and fix problems in their product. I'm saying that it's messed up that we concentrate on Microsoft's faults-- almost making it more attractive to be a writer of malicious code (to bring down an evil company like Microsoft that doesn't close it's security holes.)
The problem isn't Bill Gates. The problem are the people writing the malicious code. It is unfortunate that we live in a society where instead of being angry at the asshats writing malicious code we're mad at the people being targeted by the asshats.
You must hang around people who make their own computers. That's likely because you point out the savings, and at the same time point out the possibility of pirated windows.
Most people don't know where to get leaked versions of Windows. You may think it's easy to find, but when you don't know shit about computers it's not.
Most people rely on Dell and other such companies to prebundle everything they need, the MAJORITY of consumers do not want to be arsed to build their own computer or download a pirated version of windows and burn it to cd(s).
I wasn't representing my view of evolution, i was responding to what was abviously an attack on those who do not agree with the evolutionary theory and insteast believe in a god.
Evolution nor religion are exclusive, but I was responding to the tone of the parent...
If you're trying to, or are, impying that the majority of people don't understand evolution I'm going to have to dissagree. It seems to me that most people understand the concept but choose to believe in God anyway. Some people just want to believe in something, it doesn't make them stupid to decide to believe in a God.
So you're saying we have the duty to tear down the basis of religion? That is asinine. Put the information out there; let it be publicly known... if at that point Joe Sixpack decides to give up the idea of a creationist that's up to him. But to attack the religion directly just makes it even easier for the religious zealots to ignore you and to make you less believable.
The word 'right' doesn't always point to the Constitution, nor is this website governed by said constitution. I was not calling to question people's right to say something, but rather stating that I don't think it gives me the right.
Ya'll are just looking for reasons to blast the religious community... I think it's awesome that they found this evidence, but I don't think it gives me the right to go out trying to tear down people's beliefs.

Wrong. GMail is a webbased client. It's just that the connection between the client and the server is invisible to the end user.
Yes,
I'd very much like the companies that charge me anywhere between 1.50-2.75 to withdraw my own money to run voting booths.
Actually, I know that by withdrawing from another financial institution I'm actually paying for their supply-- the people who stock the money...
If you post -anything- on the internet with -any- expectation of privacy... You sir are an idiot.
Ballmer got the last laugh by beating said spyware with a flying chair.

The government have an agreement with the aliens to only fly in our airspace, of course. Come on man...

Keep drinking that punch man... keep drinking it.
Ah, that makes more sense. Sorry I didn't read it that way the first time;)

I couldn't help it, I didn't notice the toilet bowl cleaner when I sat down... Now I have this friggin blue ring around my anus.
99% of people hate people who pull statistics out of thin air to create an argument.
Maybe if we coordinate a mass leaning to the west, or whatever the correct direction would be, it would shift us back... Hurry, everyone LEAN LEFT!

Nothing was done when Clinton was in power either. Not to the extent that you're talking about.

It's trivial anyway, I don't know why I initially posted to correct you.
