I have to admit, Im surprised the customers are being as fussy as they are about it. The rates are the same and they're adding game rentals. Now they're seperating the businesses which, I hope, will reduce conflicts of interest while they're negotiating their licensing deals.
I'm sorry, I am just not ready to wave my pitchfork around.
It's certainly possible. We're not privvy to what the studios tell them when they negotiate their fees. I wonder if they were making ridiculous demands by using one service as leverage for the other. "Well, you already have us on DVD, so if you want streaming too you gotta pay even more!"
Even just bitching about it on-line is more effective. When you boycott movies etc it doesn't cause a drop in piracy, so they just say "See! People are robbing us blind!"
I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question...
Is it possible that the 3D acceleration is running slower because more protections are in place to prevent the system from going kablooey in the event of a driver failure?
I ask (and worry that this is a dumb question) because I've noticed Windows 7 doesn't seem to be as fast with 3D as XP was, but it has proven to be a lot more fault-tolerant. Was just wondering of the discrepancy exists because something similar is going on.
I hear ya. I wasn't really thinking about the case at hand when I wrote that, it was more of a knee-jerk reaction caused by hearing a bunch of stories about these patent suits coming out of the woodwork well after success was attained.
So you want companies to google up the full definition of their patents on a daily basis and sue into homelessness every startup that appears to violate instead?
Heh. So you think it took 5 years of wild success for them to notice the Wii controller's functionality might need to be investigated?
Spelling Nazis. I hate these guys.
2009 isn't recent enough?
He's right.
Well it's not like Solo would shoot him.

really? does it fucking matter who shot first...
Yes.
its a gd fictional character not a historical figure
.. okay... I'm curious why you're participating in this thread at all then.
and it was not a defining moment
Yes, it was.
the defining moment is when he overcame his greed and helped the greater cause
Right...
but your too tied up on a 100millisecond special effect to notice anything else are you
It's funny that you understand the 'overcoming greed' bit but don't understand how who shot first affects that.
But how is it any different from a new version of a computer program that has more efficient algorithms and fewer security vulnerabilities?
Uh... how is it the same?
As opposed to what? "I have something, fund me to R&D it." ..?
How did the solar deaths happen?
I have a question: If I buy Super Mario World on my Wii, is it then legal for me to download the ROM so I can also play it on my laptop?
Even just bitching about it on-line is more effective. When you boycott movies etc it doesn't cause a drop in piracy, so they just say "See! People are robbing us blind!"
This is not a 'boycott' situation.
Or you could do something that'd actually help.
*ahhhh,,,.. pssshhhhhhhhhrrrr* "Nooch Vader!"
With their fancy iPhones and Nintendos, they wouldn't know which end of soldering iron to hold.
Instead they know how to network their computers, make web pages, and produce/edit/publish the movies they've made..
Yeah, today's kids aren't tech savvy at all.
Ha ha! :)
Are there any Americans left who can soldier...
Yes, quite a few actually. For the last decade we've been exporting them to the Middle East.

I get your point.
One more reason to leave California.
Sales tax on Amazon is a reason to leave California? Wouldn't 4 drops of rain anywhere else in the country completely negate that?

I would rather see companies innovate than sue.
Just once I'd like to see a company sue before a product really takes off.
A 'barrel of monkeys'....
Oh forget it, I fail. Please make fun of me accordingly.
I swear this is the year of me making an ass of myself.
As a Linux user I am disappoint.
You must be a barrel of walking through the games section of Best Buy.
Even at $1 a day it seems like it be cheaper to buy the shoes. How little are you paying these shoe-tiers of yours?
Woooosh! ............ .. oops, sorry, my jacket told me to push the button. I'm all dry now.
