If the tuner isnt xm/sirius ready, then you will need the fm modulator. Installation is not that hard, but it should be left to people who know what they are doing. A friend who is the install guy at circuit city has had Mercedes, Beamers, Rolls Royce's etc. come in for satellite radio.
It may go belly up, but that is very doubtful. Right now, 2003 cadillacs have xm. With GM switching the rest of cars over in later 2003 and should be in every new by 2005.
Sirius has Ford. (I think, I cant remember the exact list.) Not to mention numerous after market companies using xm and sirius. This isnt going to die out anytime soon as it will be very wide spread.
The only downfall they have is buying the deck, the antenna and the xm/sirius receiver. That gets very expensive like any other new product on the market. Just wait till the competition heats up and prices should plummet.
I think that Schrodingers equation would be better suited for this. I mean, E=mc^2 is really pretty general and doesnt look anywhere near as cool as Schrodingers.
Plus, all the psi's / phi's or whatever symbol you learned with look a hell of a lot cooler.
Its nice to know we have companies that think we dont mind paying $40 a month for cable and dsl, when the speeds are only 128k to whatever they may be. Here, we are buying the term cable and dsl, since advertisers know how to market it as that and that the average user doesnt really know anything about it except that cable and dsl "are in" and modems are "out". The common internet user, probably notices it is faster, but does not realize just how fast. PrOn downloaders, do realize this lust for bandwidth as well as the LPBs in Counterstrike. Damnit, i want to stream pron live at 1600X1200 res so i can ser her kidneys.
Arent the altec lansings d885s thx certified, not to mention the klipsch promedia which have little THX stickers on them.
So is Dell going to start selling promedias with their systems for double the cost?
Dont forget that vaporware gets the most publicity.
Remember the seti@home pci card? Big hype, no product. Cyrix's Jalepeno was passed as quickly as real jalepenos. It was supposed to make Cyrix a serious company again.
