"Hell, my Hyundai Elantra has transformed (with +$1000 of equipment) "
What are your plate numbers and where do you live. I just had my second stereo stolen in broad daylight and i need a new one, err, i mean i need to hear this $1000 setup for myself.
Previously I used to run my ipod with an RCA connection the way JesusPancakes mentioned (ipod was nowhere near truck at the time of the theft). Now i just look at the hole in my dash wishing i could hear something, even if it was a commercial. Listening to my headphones while i drive has turned out to be dangerous as i start to ignore more signs and vehicles with flashy lights, not to mention it is illegal to do so here.
Anyways, something is better than nothing even if it is commercials. The moral of my rambling is that even if you take the faceplate and have nothing in view, your crap will still get stolen by some no good crack head whos going to sell it on ebay within the week.(spelling and grammar not checked so take that grammar nazis.)
Think of the coolness factor as the worm on a hook. It gets people interested and biting at their products, which includes music from itunes. The music bought is the actual hook. After I bought a couple of hundred of songs since the start of the music service, there is no way im going to another player since I would lose all of the music I have bought in the last 3 years. So basically they caught me and im not going to let go because I am a satisfied customer.
I second/third/fourth/whatever Epson as well. I had a Perfection 3170 I bought from Best Buy. After 3,000-4,000 document scans in one summer, it crapped out on me. The office I worked at needed the extra scanner since we were digitizing records and we couldnt afford another $4000 pro scanner and the epson did very well for $300 (including the adf feeder). The adf feeder works excellent on the replacement best buy gave me, which was the Perfection 4180.
Yes the replacement plan is good for scanners as it even covers the bulb replacement. In many cases, they give you credit for the scanner and tell you to go pick a new one, which is how i got the upgraded model.
The software is easy to use and hasnt caused any problems for me.
Wow...anonymous coward.. Ironic, seeing that "apple fanboy" is the most fricking trendy term i have seen on the net complaining about ipods. Come on people, be original if your going to complain.
At this intersection, there is a right turn lane, 2 lanes going straight, and a left turn lane.
The intersection has 3 horizontal light housings hanging from a wire across the intersection headed east. One light housing is for the left turn. One light housing is for going straight only. One light housing for going straight and turning right. This one has 4 lights within the housing, the typical red, yellow, green and it has a turn arrow for right turns on red. One to two feet to the right is a no turn on red sign.
The light sequence occurs as such: Once the lanes for going straight (east and west) turn red, all of the lights turn red including the right turn arrow. This arrow stays red for a few seconds. While the turning lanes for the north-south traffic turn left the right turn arrow turns green. When the north-south traffic stops turning and starts traveling straight through the intersection, the right turn arrow turns red.
I was turning right while the turn arrow was green. The north-south cars were turning left at this time.
As for pictures and the sequence timings of the lights, my parents took them a week later. They went through the intersection turning right a couple of times to get the photos and make sure the timing was right. They almost missed the sign since they saw the lights too.
I dont really care about the ticket since I need to take defensive driving for insurance purposes anyways (its been 3 years since i last took it and it lowers insurance). I just brought it up because how good is the software going to be if situations like this show up.
What if you have a light with green arrow telling you to go right and a sign next to it saying no right turn on red. I have pictures and a ticket for obeying a traffic signal. Unfortunately, i do not have time to drive 3 hours to fight it.
While this system could help those that just dont pay attention, its not much help when streets are mislabled.
mpeg-vcr is what you need to edit mpeg2 without having to re-encode. I use it to chop out commercials all the time. Of course you have to pay for it, which is something that seems to be taboo here and it is for windows computers.
Reagan lifted Carters ban on reprocessing. That is a presidential power. It is too expensive to start up because we never know who the next president will be and what the (ignorant) public outcry will be.
I use dvdbackup and rip an entire dvd to my 15" tibook(667mhz). Works great. Much longer battery life since it doesnt have to spin the dvd rom. Not to mention that fan does not come on during playback now. Once it is ripped, just load the video.tob file in apples dvdplayer and its as if im using the actual dvd. It may take a lot of space, but i just delete it and load another since i only used it for trips.
The origianl battery on it died recently (3 years) and the replacement one lasts about 4.5 hours total. They increased the capacity of the newer ones and it lasts about 1.5 hours longer than the original
Its called playlists. Apple has been pushing these since they developed the ipod. You make your playlist, then you let it run. Smart playlists make this even easier. If you have to skip songs in your playlist, you are not using them correctly.
A remote would be annoying since a two way remote would cost quite a bit more and if they did not make it two way, you would constantly be hitting skip to find the right song..
There is more than one doctor in this world and if they are in a remote area where there is only one doctor, i doubt they have a theater.
As for the other situations, I dont think that the time spent inside is going to cause that much of a disturbance. Getting through traffic could be just as bad. Some places need to be quiet, like theaters, church (yes i have seen people use cell phones during the service)airplanes, and class.
Seeing that some people forget small children in cars on hot days, i would not trust them to turn off a ringer.
it lets advertisers/marketers know exactly how many times someone looks up that bar code and since it can use your phone, i can only imagine what phone companies might use it for in the future.
I dont like reading everything from a video screen, although this does have some cool scan and store for later reading or viewing.
Now i get to listen to people blabbing about crap for the duration of the flight without chance of them shutting up so i can get some sleep or do some work. Its bad enough having to wait by some one making phone calls and screaming into their phone at the terminals because they have their volume down.
Because of itunes i have bought primarily independent records for the last few months that i would have never heard of. I spend about $40 a month at the itunes store buying albums. Luckily this will make independent stuff even more popular as they will stay priced at 9.99 and the crappy riaa stuff will go up to 13.99+(using nerds new album as benchmark for price from itunes)
They see the end coming and they are running out of ideas.
In college, if we left our term papers on the network unprotected, we were accused and punished for allowing others to cheat. Isnt this the same deal? For cheating we get expelled from school at the worst. Minor incidents we would get dropped from the class and given an F. Why not hold our leaders to these same standings that they insist that we must follow.
I find it funny that as things get closer to elections, more reports come out about who did what, whether or not it is true and you never see all of the facts, just a spin on the event in a newspaper. I blame the media, just so i can say i blame someone.
How is it a lousy design when they call for specifications that another company promises, but does not fulfill? They took measures to fix the problem by switching battery providers.
8 hours of battery life is plenty for me as it charges when i am in my car or docked each night at home.
On your ipod status, i have a 30gb too. Notice that when the hard drive or backlight is on it is reporting how much battery life is left at that current load demand. When those are off, it will have more life. It may seem goofy, but it is accurate.
"Some experts say that it's impossible to damage the drive in this way, but I'm not buying that--"
If you dont listen to the experts, who do you listen to? Lawyers? Politicians? I know, pollsters. Since polls always kknow my exact feelings. Anyone else get a sense that this was funded by someone who refuses to believe you can use more than one mouse button on a mac?
true, but my tibook 667 runs my isight great. i do have 1gb of ram to help out. My friends ibook loses quite a bit of frames but is still good with or without the bandwidth limit.
I really like the isight, but until aim and icq can video conference with ichat, it really wont be that useful since the rest of the world belongs to wintel.(and the *nix group)
We could have seen the end of the feature completely. Now i can still go to a friends with my laptop and listen to his music. If streaming your music to your work is that big of a deal, there are other programs to do so that will grant you more control over it.

Hey it might know what song it is on, just not how much time is left.....

Well, that one time several months ago the readers couldn't log on to Steam and were forced to do something outside....Come on, we burn easy.
Maybe so, but this thing is HUGE compared to Data. If Data were as large as this, the Enterprise would need a trailer to lug around his fat ass.
Wow...anonymous coward.. Ironic, seeing that "apple fanboy" is the most fricking trendy term i have seen on the net complaining about ipods. Come on people, be original if your going to complain.
And replacing them every 7 years.
Okay, my bad.
