For goodness SAKE! We were discussing your assertion that the economy(ies) weren't growing! Your idea that goverment stuff weren't part of the economy was just a side dish.
The fact that people gets born and that companies sometimes are successful in what they set out todo, means they do.
Ergo, when economies grow...so must the expenses!
I can imagine where you got your information from.
You spout more mantra then certain 13 year old communists i know!
Take my word for it, your a complete ideologue of the zealot variety.
*chortlechorrtle* or...thats to say LoooooOOOOOooL.
Whats worse then your basic knowledge of economy is your reading comprehension.
I just said that goverment activities are part of the economy nothing less.
And tax cuts dosent really help the economy...as i said...TAX cuts gives more profits margins, if you didnt have tax cuts...you have less...so less profit margins means more incentive to expand.
Oh and you forgot reason 4, government businesses....Peace out from Norway.(protip we're aint complainin)
*chortle* Goverment services pays salaries to empleyees( who spends or save the), or contractors and goods for projects, so...yes...spending to influence the economy, even if it is indirectly.
And there are millions of people who gets their paycheck and thousands, tens of thousands.are added each year.
Thousands of companies big and small that...YOU GUESSED IT, makes MORE MONEY(or sometimes don't) and...unless they are happy with their current profit margins(padded by tax cuts) they will expand their operations in some way.
But...yeah, I'm probably wrong, only your utopia will work.
Religions are not Philosophies NOR Ideology god DAMNIT!
THEIR FUCKING RELIGION'S!
Theocracy IS an ideology base on X religion, and stuff like christian humanism is a philosophy strain based on religion.(Kirkegard anyone)
Luther was a theologian and a christian philosopher that dealt with SOME proto-humanism( though he was an asshole ).
That said, it is my view that Religion are first and formost shaped by ideology, politics ( like Saudi Arabians wanting a national identity as a rallying cry against the Ottomans) or changing norms.
Still does not mean we mix the dictionary to fit analogies.
Well, greek philosophy back in the hay day were ANYTHING but secular, maybe a bit unfair using the modern concept of secularity.
But philosophy and physics have been entrenched in mysticsim and theology, and have only gradually removed itself to a more pure proof/postulate concepts.
Anyway...Religious demographics tells fuck all about degrees and direction of the people that encompasses it. For most it is just an cultural identity for the nation....
When nationalism makes human worth and decency moot, then some scant religious ideals(positive or not) has about much as say.
Theories of religious doctrine has very little to say in the collective madness that puts fascist(not using it as a pejorative here) regimes on the throne, other then to be an national romantic ornaments.

Ehm...they can be credited for have gotten the ball going on philosophy, but that ball has grown much bigger since then.
The scientific method we have now we can attribute to much more recent philosophers....which used the reflections from philosophers past that, and on and on and on.
The scientific method we have today we can thank Karl Popper for, and its more then just testing, its about how you use the results to come to conclusion...and quite often, making sure you don't.
Such epistemology would be quite useful before they came up with the "four elements" silliness.
Not an Ex-phil but I've but I have been lectured on this from a friend who majored in this, and groans every time someone recomends the Republic as a beginners course in Philosophy for laymen.
We call it Arabic/Islamic *placeholder* because thats how we historically categorize civilization, by naming it after the Language or Religion that defined the culture.
And after 650 Persia was part of that civilization.
Those and Jews, Christians, Zoroastrians, etc, etc.
I'd say the reason why the middle east had almost an millenia of brilliance, was the writing leftover by the greeks through the romans, good trade and exhange of ideas with China and India(well...conquered them in the 1300-1400 hundred, but hey Mughul architecture is kinda neat) and the fact that the rulers did not discriminate(much) against other religions, which allows for a fairly peaceful and stable society.
Its not that i think Islam and Muhammed is the best thing since sliced bread, and its the 21 century, notion such as civilization is irrelevant, and enlightenment era thinkers are WAAAY more preferable, but how they generally handled non-belivers back in the day made them much more preferable then some other Abrahamic religion of that era that shall remain nameless.
Which is why i prefer public broadcaster such as BBC and NRK here at home. ( OBS, for important stuff you can never have enough input from different journalists, but at 11'O i know which channel to switch to).
Ok...barring Russia Today, most public broadcasters is a service to its citizen, so they have their own creed and goals to do what they are suppose todo, Keep people informed.(and buy airing rights for HBO shows)
The universities writes the books and compendiums.
And the universities in turn can use and revise the materials to their needs.
The State simply provides the presses and repositories.
MiniTru would suck(in BB's eyes that is) if Goldstein could provide revisions to their publications.
